  • I'm a Republican so I don't careimage

  • That may be so, Louise.  But your future ruler is about to be born (although, as he/she might not rule for 60+ years, I won't be around to see it!)

  • Feck........ Not here as well

Who bl**dy cares that some wench is up the duff and about to sprog ?

  • I'd like to see the little bleeder try and rule meimage

  • The BBC are supposed to report the news. A factual representation of what is happening in the world. But when this happens they become a PR organisation for them. They report that the whole country is excited for them. Where did they get that from? The news will be unwatchable for days thanks to Nicholas Whitchell's toadying. Even they can't stand him.

Mmm.  Won't be my 'ruler'.  Might be a national tourist attraction.

  • Yup I think I'll not be watching the news or buying a paper for a couple of weeks, but can I do without the interweb ??. guess I'll have to lose the BBC bookmark for a while incase I accidently click on it.

Now that I agree with.  A cost effective one.  And one that brings a certain level of stability to the country.

Far more stability (and far more income) than your favoured republican option, where career-politicians back-stab, lie, cheat, steal in order to try and win votes and power.

Royal rule may be inherently unfair, but at least they can act as a common thread going through history, and can have influence without the need to suppress rivals or try to win votes.

  • The wife of a chap that works in our IT department had a baby last week.

Lovely for them, mildly interesting for me, I'll sign the congratulations card and stick a couple of quid in the collection.

Will and Kate's baby - about the same level of interest.  Although the couple of quid I'd have put in their collection I'll use to buy my own kids an icecream.  I suspect it won't be missed.

  • A good day for releasing some unpopular figures?

  • Royalty has ruled jack shit since Oliver Cromwell worked it up them.

Ian Brady or Stuart Hall ?

    ok I'll get my coat

  • In other news, I hear that a young woman living in central London goes into labour and within minutes is in hospital with a consultant and full support team on hand.

    Ain't the NHS wonderful?

  • I might ring up the hospital and pretend to be prince charles.......
