Think this thread shows how subjective film tastes are.
worst I saw recently was Rebecca which I watched for the first time having read recently read the book for the first time. know hes considered a film great but I really don't rate Hitchcock.
One Day was a shite book too.
all of the Jaws sequels were awful, ... particularly when Jaws itself is so brilliant!
Oh I'm so glad it's not just me with The Royal Tenenbaums.
My personal vote goes to Farewell My Concubine. The biggest pile of pretentiousness I've ever had to sit (half way) through. My husband was nearly crying with boredom half an hour in, while I kept insisting it would warm up. He was right.

I liked all of those.
Can't decide which DVD to watch tonight. Available choices: Apocalyse Now Redux; 2001:a space odyssey; Blade Runner:the final cut; Come and See;
strippers vs werewolves is on the syfy channel tonight.
Don't want to prejudge it but I think I may have a new worse film later
The last Twilight film was total shite.
Easy Rider was also phenomenally crap as well.

This film really is in the so bad it's good category.
What more do you want, ex Emmerdale and Holly Oaks actresses playing strippers and Martin Kemp being stabbed in the eye with a silver pen. Pity he wasn't stabbed in the ear with something made of "GOLD!!" and he could feel what the rest of us has had to put up with fo rthe last 20 years.
Honestly, put the brain on hold, drink wine and enjoy this film.
Lost in Translation. Absolute shite.
Dog Soldiers. Oh dear...
There are a lot of actual truly awful in every way films I could list, but if we are using the critically acclaimed films I've disliked then two spring to mind.
Lost in Translation - I actually think my main reasoning for disliking this is that the main characters are so completely hateful. It should be impossible to hate Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson, but the only way to save that film would have been for both of them to die horrific and painful deaths.
The Thin Red Line - Self indulgent toss would be the only way to describe this film. The only redeemable feature to this was seeing the group on women in front of me in the cinema get all excited when George Clooney got his ten seconds on screen. Then witnessing their utter disgust that they'd just sat three hours of tedium to get ten seconds of George.
Silver linings playbook, this was so sh*t I didn't even get half way .... decided life was just too short... and it got an oscar - the mind boggles
Wrath of the Titans - words fail me.
$150million dollars, to make a film about the ancient greeks. They could do with the money in the present.
