Jinty - Liverpool is tiny and the start is very central by the Albert Docks so anywhere in "Central Liverpool" will be fine. Don't know any cheap hotels as always stay with the mother in law! For trains everything other than Merseyrail local services go into Lime Street anyway - you will presumably need to change at Crewe, Wigan or similar to pick up from the West Coast line.
Entered the full marathon last week. Training now for it, the route looks ok, the start at the docks will be fantastic, I think its the same area where they start the btr 1/2 marathon. The training is hurting but cant wait to finish my first full marathon!
I dunno, I ran one of their races and the organisation was so appalling I felt compelled to email them after. When I spoke to others about it who'd run some of theiry races before it turned out to be the same every time. Symbolic. Maybe in the US they're better, the UK branch is pitiful. I wouldn't give them a penny.
Thats surprising, I've been speaking with them via their Facebook page and the organisation for this year is excellent. They have been doing free training runs every Sunday encompassing different sections of the marathon course. I cant complain but I guess the proof is in the pudding.

Shambolic, not symbolic...but then again...

Surprises me also.
I ran Edinburgh R&R Half in 2012 and organisation was awesome
Some people want it to be a disaster imo.
Although I was disappointed they cancelled Edinburgh as I had also entered that.
