Race well all, I will be in the buccaneer kit and sportingly pirate visor, time to see of the training has paid off, leisurely 7.25am start for me. Tracker will be it's usual hopeless self but Copenhagen has an app for that, check out 'ironman dk' and use the ironman app to geo track athletes, my number is 1065.
See you on the other side, aaaarrrrrrgggghhh ????????
Does anyone know what time the 2015 event opens, all I can get from the website is the day. Since I am a few time zones out right now I am trying to plan my day around something in Copenhagen!
ZO - registration for next years event opens today 25th august. 16.00 hrs CET. CLOSED IN 6 hours last year. Very we'll run event. Wasn't a problem with split transitions and don't worry about solid tyres
Cheers all, it wasn't what I wanted but it was a good day at the office. Sub 10 is a good result but it's a faster course than I managed and I probably pushed a little on the bike due to wind and then the run was where I lost the 10 other minutes I needed to get what I wanted.
Assume SS was in pirate kit, that was me running after you at the finish on one of your turn arounds but you were obviously in the zone as the aaaarrrrgggghhh didn't even raise a giggle lol.
Great race and one to do, the city is great and compact and the split transition no issues due to public transport.
Have you done this race before Rosey? I can't remember if this is your first or second go out there? I did it during it's first year, when it was still a Challenge event and I know exactly what you mean about it being windy. I recall there being some lengthy sections into a headwind on the bike which were a bit depressing. The weather wasn't great generally the year I did it and the rain was lashing down by the end. It really dampened the local support.
Rosey - apologies if I ignored you. Never even heard an aaaarrrrgggghhhh. Didn't know at the time if you were in pirate gear or not. Kept looking.
definitely loads of support on the run but the last lap was a lot quieter and very dark at the turn around point where you collected your bands. There was one lady supporter who was stood in the same place on her own for my entire run calling out in danish with the occasional "you are so cool" she merely put a coat on when it rained. I think she deserved a medal herself

Thanks for that. Couldn't see an option for not putting a club name in. Presumably it will be for a year and cover next years Austria
All done. Thanks again Trogs
So, anybody out there doing this. Hows the training going?
Am staying at crown plaza and arriving Thursday leaving Tuesday.
Hi iron rose. Hats off to anyone who can do that much training.
you've obviously done this sort of thing before
Having a last long week training, then other than the prudential london 100 bike ride on 10th , am winding down.
staying at the Phoenix from Thursday to Monday and then travelling up north for a few days
well off to airport soon.Predicted weather just changed to thunderstorms
Maybe will see some pirates there.
I'll be 'racing' in my best kit. Number 698
Good luck all

Rosey finishe'd in a superb time of 9:43:33
great going mate
Congrats IR!
Nice one Rosey
Looks like Southern Snail is going well too. 1:35 swim. 7:07 bike, currently showing 6.8k on the run. Go SSnail!!
No more updates for SS. Hope everything's ok and it's just a tracker malfunction
Top work Rosey, hope it's what you were after, or better!
SSnail (698) finished in 14:41:14 with impressively even splits on both the bike and the run
Transition times could do with some improvement though; they were even slower than mine!!
Ha I did see that. Obviously tracker broken this end.
Nice one iron rose. Did you get a kona slot. Went to the awards ceremony this morning but they wouldn't let OH in so we left
had a fab if cold day and I reckon I should have an award for my transition. 21 mins and 16 mins OMG Thats more than half Roseys swim!!!
legs rather stiff but other than that all is working

If it'd been a pirate championship you'd have been a shoe in for 'Lost in transition'
Well done again. Look forward to hearing all about it on your return.
