I’ve been down with flue for the pat 3 weeks or so and have hardly trained – I can feel my fitness slipping away
I constantly ignore my own advice and try to start training too soon after starting too feel OK again giving the flu a further chance to get a hold again
Just thought I’d share my panic!

Just learn from the past though - best to get 100% better before you train, or you'll just end up losing more time.
Just watch what you eat as you won't be burning up the 20,000 calories or whatever that you burn off in the average day !
:-)
Get better soon !
ya' know he's right!!!
I didn't start training properly at all last year until after Christmas and that was predominantly running until April. Than switched for three good quality tri months leading up to the IM.
You'll be fine. Just enjoy a bit of a break.
OK.
I've just nagged you in another thread, so I shall leave you alone in here.

get better soon
once your flu is over you'll mentall and physically fresh to start off again. Your muscles will 'remember' so dont worry. Just need a bit of extra protein to kick-start them!
anyway its december - party time! no need to worry about training til jan at least :O>

Which you'll need to be, because while you've been moping around with a bit of a sniffle I've been training like a madman to make sure Sherborne never happens again.
I suffer and are suffering from the odd strain and things and that is disrupting my training a little. Be realistic and try to plan for the worse, assume you will loose time from injuty / sickness (well thats the way I look at it, not negatively but guess you know what I mean).
I didn't train for a month, and on resuming training couldn't run for more than 15 mins at a time.
My GP told me it could not be done - so I took that as a challenge!
Admittedly I struggled in the race (IM France 2002), but finished with no ill effects.
Don't get too stressed - TLD is a long way off.
Paul.
You've got plenty of time Will.
I thought he meant a toerag.
(discounting Jj's scurrilous version)
Ooh - scurrilous - I like that word - must try and use that more today.
