Distance running

Hi everyone out there. I am planning to run JOGLE next year, so starting to gear up - and my thoughts are turning to a decent backpack - have looked at a few - any suggetsions? I plan to carry as little as possible, but am not setting off till late september, so will be running into the autumn, and will obviously need wet weather gear + overnight etc. Previously walked the South West Way with little more than a toothbrush, a spare T shirt and a page of an OS map at a time, but this is a bit more of an undertaking! 

Oh - and I am ancient (will pass 58 en route) and need all the help I can get. Please.
