Well, a great experience but sadly my knee gave out at mile 16, was feeling strong and factoring in a fade I suspect I was on for a 4.20ish, which turned into a demoralised and painful 4.49.
10 horrible miles adapted to finish it up. I suspect the niggly tendons in the ankle led to me compensating and my knee took the brunt of it, although I was feeling in great shape.
Dave - still a good effort. the first marathon is about finishing it. then you can work from there.
"unfinished business" - Thats the spirit!
I had a dissaster day as well and fell at mile 12 and as my knee swelled up i got shorter and shorter strides until around 23-24 miles I could not barely run at all
My knees today! still in agony! - So I guess I have unfinished business as well

Ouch, sorry to hear that Wenty. Going into this it was always going to be a one off, but now it's hard to let it go, we shall see!
I suppose the heat was a factor too, so lots of time to work on
Is the ballot a lottery or an application type thing where they select people?
