If anyone is a bit more relaxed about it I will be doing the Longrun Meadow parkrun (Taunton) at 9am on Saturday before hot footing it up to Wimbleball
I'll be there by midday Friday. I'm in yellow as well, 250 it says but I think yellow is a free for all.
I'll be the one with a Grey Audi Q7 trying to put up a green tent... There will be a pirate sticker on the car. I'll be doing the swim on Friday and maybe having a bimble round the bike course.
787 and off in the first wave at 7:00am (I will be the one at the back with all the directional sense of a fart in a strong wind). Planning to get their Friday morning, will have some kind of Pirate paraphernalia on so make sure you stop me and say hello. Will see you all at the swim and novice briefing.
Anyone fancy driving the route at some point, maybe early Saturday?

Would you drive me around on Sunday ? will be ready about 8am as in second slower swim wave ?
Well, I was there. Did the swim Friday and went for a ride round the course. Unfortunately seasonal asthma that hasn't bothered me for 3 years started to be an issue.
With the forecast for tomorrow and after getting medical advice I've withdrawn.
Completely gutted but I didn't think it was worth the risk.
I'm going go see the doctors and see if I can get the all clear for Bolton. I've no idea why it is so bad this year, my chest has been tight since the weather got better so I can only assume it is that.

Gutted for you mate
all the training and this happens
hope you get the go for bolton and see you up here
An absolutely brilliant, but brutal day. The Pirates weighed in with some cracking racing including a crash, an unfortunate but sensible DNF and an epic sprint finish (which I lost due to a cramp inducing hi-5 from a certain Pirate ), finished in 5h 42m

Did a kit test run today and it seems I sweated black stuff, luckily it washed out, very odd effect looked like I was dipped in an oil slick.
Duly noted

There is a tracker but due to poor or no reception can be a bit intermittent - a bit like my bike & run efforts.

Go smack it and like Stanners says "Don't be shit"
