Auto multi sport Garmin 305

Having just ventured into the world of duathlon, my biggest problem seems to be the Garmin! I set it for auto multisport so that just the Lap button pressed changed to running, but then it only downloaded onto the old Garmin TC and not the current Garmin Connect.

On investigating further this seems to be a problem with Garmin 305's - I can't seem to export it from TC to Connect; and the download that you have to buy seems really complicated for my old computer (and brain) to deal with!

My only other option seems to be to change sports manually, but this seems to be wasting time doesn't it?
