  • I can still see it.

  • I can still see it!

Raf, there will be a bloody great big monster!  And balloons.

    From their website .....

the race organisers would ask that all runners be sensitive about rubbish disposal, noise levels, listen to marshals instructions, and use only the Portaloos provided. As we’re sure you would expect, we do not tolerate antisocial behaviour. So, I guess that's you out Seren image

  • OK - the balloons sold it to me! I'm in!! image

I do like on the entry form I get to add my clan!!image And what a civilised start time - 10am! Might be just as well, as its sort of my birthday weekend.....so there may be the odd pint of heavy consumed the night before! image

  • Rafiki, not sure what time Tri's normally start? First coach leaves Inverness around 7:30am so not that much of a lie in.

  • Most Tris seems to start in the middle of the bloody night! Lanza - we were in the water at 6:00, which meant breakfast at 4:00!

Even New York marathon, you're on the bus by 5:30am - so 10:00 is very civilised - but then what else would you expect from the civilised nation on Earth? image

  • Yay Rafi image  If you're very good I'll post a picture of a balloon Nessie later.

     For Rafi image

  • Blimey ... thats a big one   image

  • Omg, where do I get one!
  • She's very cute in a plastic, monstery kind of way.

Incidentally, this year, a few of us took our wetsuits and went for a refreshing (in a bracing kind of way) swim in the Loch.  It was definitely something we were planning to do again next year if people are interested?

  • I think it would be very rude not to.

Come on Melds.... Get in image

  • does this race sell out.only asking for a friend

  • Seren, if you don't want to race come for a fun wkend!

  • Seren, in the past it has sold out but your friend should be safe until about May.

  • We have to steal that Nessy!!

  • Do we think Schmunks could get us a big enough monaco to put on it?

  • OMG - i just seen the profile - thats definitely a PB course, but would i feel a fraud if i got a sub 3:00 on this course? anyone done it before that knows the course, is it tarmac or trail?

  • Is it? I thought it was hilly. But that doesn't matter, you should do anyway DK!
  • And yes Rafi, we do!

Yup, tis all on the road image My Garmin suggests 3,000ft decline and 2,000ft incline. I counted 3 'hills' and the rest undulating. Need to work on downhill running for next yearimage

  • Oh well, this is in my part of the world and I've never done a marathon before..it'd be a shame if I didn't join in and meet some pirates. I'm in.

Or in local speak, I ken fit yer chabbin on aboot, I'll giz all ye in black and yella a boise...

  • Would that be the north-east corner of The Holy Land, by any chance Pete?

  • I am on lates and nights all that weekend and dont have that much leave left ..  sadly

  • What about a  freeze-time-go-to-Loch-Ness-get-back-to-work-and-nobody-will-know-you-were-gone  spell?
