I overpronate but have no idea of what kind of shoes I should be looking for. I will be going to a proper running shop later this week to get fitted but would like an idea of what other overpronating-forumites wear and how much they cost.
went to a specialist running shop yesterday, they put me through several different exercises and the conclusion was that i am a mild pronator, they offered me a wide range of shoes which were suitable, a wide range of prices too. In the end i plumbed for the asics gel kayano because they felt so right. They were at the upper end of the market pricewise (£105 rrp) but got them for £90. I know you can get them cheaper mail order or online, but to be honest the helpful advise and the fact that you could try so many shoes, and also the reassurance that you were running in the correct type of shoe more than made up for any price difference.

For the record, I use Nike Air Durhams. £80 list price, last year's model around £50-60.
