was a bit mad Dips. Afew suicidal mountain bikers and runners decided to run straight at us which was a bit odd....and a bit of a shame as we discussed in the 10.30 group. Its a big old park and surely there is room for all?
Hargie, Guess I was wrong last time... yes it was my who ran with you two for the last couple of miles... thanks for letting me know the time. I'm off for a five miler at lunch time... think it might be a little slower than yesterdays pace! Good luck to all who are running in the FLM - Can anybody recommend a good half for the 14th - not sure if I should do Hastings or Fleet - looking for a sub 1:30 time. Simon.
Thanks RW/Human Race and the 10.30 pacer who got me round the first lap in a sensible condition. I've been doing 1 lap for several weeks now and would never have had the discipline to do 2 on my own. No stopping me now....well maybe just until I've loosened up i bit!
Hello Michelle - Guessing you were in the 10.30 group. If so, I was behind you and saw the 'Purple People Eater' come running down the left, drop his shoulder and dive on in at you... pity he didn't pick on someone his own size... Hope your shoulder is ok - it was hard hit.
We were discussing in the 10.5 group how difficult it must be to keep a pace (even with GPS), especially if your normal pace is faster, as I suspect our pacer's is.
He did a grand job. Sometimes you need that extra push - well, I know I do!
Michelle - saw the guy aim straight for you. Idiot. Had we been in a better state, we'd have chased him for you!
Awww.. thanks guys! As you know, I'm only a little 'un, and it really bl**dy hurt!!! Why were the other people using the Park so aggressive?? How about the woman cyclist who just kept screaming, 'Jesus Christ!!!!', as she cycled her way THROUGH our group??!!!!!
By the way, if you guys mean the stocky Indian looking "Gentleman", (Gentleman is hardly the description i would use) he went past me on two laps, but going the other way and i did notice he was handing out dirty looks. And Bently did mention that he was shoulder hit hard by him on the first lap, but he actually pushed him back on the second, so he did extract a little revenge. Evidently, in the comfrontation which followed, the guy swore and said that you ~#£$%*&)s only use this park once a year - it is out park!! Maybe the muppet had mental disorder!! Didn't see the woman on the bike, but that would have amused me!!
And by the way, i got caught in the loo when the 8mm group went and only set off when the 9mm went. Shot past the 8:30 group and by the time i caught the 8:00 group, i was knackered and had to ease off or it would have been just one lap for me! The 8:00 group were definitely faster, but i was happy to chug round at my own pace anyway! Great day, although the guy in the food and drinks van was the slowest person there!! PAINFUL just waiting for a cuppa!!
I'm gonna carry a stick with me next weekend and go for her spokes! I was in the thick of the pack so missed all this action at the front (thankfully). Then the 2 pre-run coffees started to niggled the ole bladder so I dashed ahead to beat the crowd to the loos and ended up adrift between the 10.30 and 9.30 groups and several other drifters.
Oh cool - haven't heard from her today (its caroline btw!) so hope she is in one piece. She was originally one of my trainees....but she's much quicker than me!
Hope you had a good run. How did your brother get on?
she sprinted ahead of the 9.30 group. I watched her run up that hill at the end of the 2nd lap. She looked very comfortable. You trained her well! Train me please!
He was okay but I think he tortured himself by running that fast without much training.
Oh I'm glad someone barged that 'man' back.. I wish I could have.. but being only 5' tall and 7st 9lbs, I guess he wouldn't have felt it. Maybe that's why he picked on me, knew I couldn't have fought back.. I'll take a weapon with me next year!!!! Re. the bloke dragging the tyre.. why doesn't he just get a dog like everyone else??? By the way, I'm walking around today like the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz..!!!!! Hope you guys feel better than me. M xx

How cool is that...the GYRG managed a negative split - my first ever!
This was my first visit to Richmond Park and have never seen so many runners, bikers, horseriders etc in one place!!!
Hope your shoulder is ok - it was hard hit.
Apart from that Runners World did a great job and I enjoyed the run (apart from the idiot jogger who barged through our group...)
Pacers humm.... Brickbats or bouquets!!
Who'd be a pacer???
:-)

and I've just been out and tied the spare wheel from the Merc to my leg with a chain and tried jogging up the street!
Beware - it don't half slow you down!!
