crashing at a mates in richmond to reduce the horror of the early start. Not sure if I am going to make the social on friday now so I shall see you on Sunday.
But not having a car and there not appearing to be a station within sight on the map could someone please reassure me that I'll make it to the meeting point using public transport?!
The race info says "occasional" water stations, so I guess you don't need to rush to your car.- ( I'm paranoid and always run with a camelbak )
Has anyone heard what the official RW line is going to be on moving up into faster groups? I booked at 10:30m/m but I think I want to have a bash at 9:00m/m
Hello all! I'm training for the Boston Marathon in Massachusetts and am coming to London on business this week. Does anyone know if it's still possible to sign up for this 15 mile Richmond Park training run? I desperately need to get in a long run this weekend, but it looks like the online registration is closed. Any help would be greatly appreciated! -Sage
Sage - they closed entries for this run when 1000 was reached. I expect this is for logistical reasons as the track going around the park is not too wide and the park will still be open to non-running folks.
Look at the Serpie's website for London running routes:
or there's nothing to stop you running round Richmond Park later in the morning. This training run is at a very uncivilised time. BTW, Don't ask Percy for directions !!
Bummer about Richmond... Josie- I guess you can ignore the email I sent to you. Thanks for the Sergie link- they're running 7 miles on Saturday through the "3 parks" and kindly suggested I just do their route x2, but running that extra 7 on your own is no easy task! It's usually the comradery and chatter that carry me through. Well, I guess I'll bring some music and hope for the best. Thanks again for the info!
errr... LL? Sanatogen? I'm guessing this is British humor, so I'm laughing sheepishly and pulling out my British / American translation guide. Geez, and I thought this was going to be an easy transition!
Sage, Its a vitamin supplement for people of advancing years. Percy is a youngster really but on another thread he gave some poor girl very clear directions to completely the wrong place and now he's worried about early senility. Sorry about the "in" joke !!
By the way, I have (3) seats available in my car but look as if i am coming from the opposite direction from everyone else!
I will driving from Oxfordshire, through Henley-on-Thames (oooh hellllllo!) and along the M4, and off at junction 3 and along the A312 and A308 if anyone is en-route and needs a lift. The detail isn't from me, it's from route finder on the AA website, so it's probably wrong!!
Anyway, anyone who needs a lift is welcome, as long as it doesn't involve me straying far from the map, as i get lost and confused very easily!!
really looking forward to sunday (despite the 6.00am start!). so far i have done all my training, apart from a couple of earlier 10k, on my own. I met a guy on sunday at mile 12 of my training run and just by talking to him i forgot all the tired muscles etc. He even had me clipping along at sub 10 min pace at one stage, before the heart gave out.

Can anyone help, I'm in the Ruislip area. Pleeease.
