Know what you mean JasonW. Trouble is you post your times on here and then RikF slaps his huge medal on the table and we can all see who has the biggest
Like Grendel and others, my PB's are all a long time ago now and I have absolutely no chance of getting near them again.
They weren't that impressive anyway - certainly nothing like Grendel or Birkmyre's.
For us "more mature runners" it may be interesting to see where we all are now, so my most recent race times over the following distances (all 2013) are:
Simon: congrats on the 5 mile time, that's impressive.
My one and only scoring point for my club in the field was for the shot put. I'm sure the bastard thing had got heavier since my schooldays; it may or may not have cleared 6 metres, I can't remember.
110M H : 38 secs. Yes 38 sec. In my only 110M H Race .Only chosen (I was volunteered to do it) as our usual second choice hurdler was unavailable that day.
I hit the second hurdle badly and then jumped the rest of the hurdles to get my club a point. I eventually finished to a round of applause and laughter (mine)
A friend of mine running for Ilford Vets in the local vets league, having only turned up to watch, was dragooned into the steeplechase and must have been the only runner in history who didn't know the water jump had a deep end!!! and yes he ended up floundering around when he jumped off the barrier - and yes we did laugh.

I'll cut out the middle man.
6" long average girth
that's where these sort of threads head to isn't it?

StevieG:No idea re McMillan (to be honest I don't even know what it is !) I just ran them in my late teens/early 20s.
Phil:Not bad times for 'a guitar playing small creature'
Many years ago in a local League meeting I finished the 800m and had placed 2nd and jogged over to 'throw' the discus !
I was last in the discus, but this 'throw' got us a point. I reached double figures in the discus too 10. 27m.
My p.b. to this day.
For the next League meeting, we'd recruited a real field event athlete (thankfully).
I polevaulted a no height for Thurrockj Harriers in the 90s
Good spread of time there Birk. Only got to 2.02 for the 800 and being 41, that aint going to get any quicker!
sneaked a PB over 5 miles with 26.00 on saturday, now on to Nene Valley for the 10 miler, hoping to get the PB down from 55.59 to sub 55 hopefully..
My mate did 0.9 metres for the hammer. Didn't reach the grass!

Birk - My mate didn't mind. He was too busy laughing at my 14m javelin, which wacked me on the ear as it left my hand. The spikey git!
My wife hit the cage 3 times in her only county discus event!
Love that Paulie's mara PB was her 100th - great effort!

I've just realised that there are some cracking field event pbs amongst us on here.
