Absolutely delighted for you Malcs. Feel equally sad for the others knowing how that feels! However, it's special knowing those that get through and following their journey. I actually felt part of it.
Please stay in touch on here. You'll gain lots and will be great additions.
Kirsty, thanks so much. That is very kind of you to say. It must have been on a coin toss in the end.
That's a proper enough congrats for me. I know how hard it is to just miss out at the death so such an upbeat reply under these circumstances shows just what a positive thinker you are. Really appreciate it.
A tough battle and been in the same position as you too so know how you are feeling and how you felt last year too. All the best, work hard, listen to the advice given to you, but most of all ENJOY!!!!
Well done to the other 3 i your category - it definitely went to the wire.
I think you were all worthy competitors in this group, but the right person won.
No slacking on the training now, I shall be following this thread with interest as got 3:29 this year and would like to do sub 3:30 again in 2014! Hope you can share all your training tips with us in here. What date is Paris next year? Is it before or after London?
Apologies for taking a while to come back on line, Ive had a hectic couple of days and today is my Daughters Birthday and although she had her party at the weekend we had a Birthday tea for her and family this eve. Ive just got them off to bed.
Anyway, enough of that. Firstly, massive congratulations on winning the competition. You are a great guy and worthy winner. From Boot camp right up to the final whistle you have been both supportive and a true gentleman. Well done.
I am looking forward to following your progress and learning from your experience, and Im sure as usual you will be more than willing to share your knowledge gained with us all.
You never know I might even come join you in Paris anyway
Congratulations Malcs!! I'll see you in Paris . Commiserations to Kirsty, Marcus and Tim - it was very close and I admire you all!
Malcs - as a newbie to the forum, I shall look forward to following your training and try and match your times and distances, as well as being entertained by your great sense of humour - and I hope we can all support and encourage you too. But I remember Mara saying you have to have lifestyle goals too, so I don't expect to see you here all the time!
Thoroughly deserved mate.....will be looking forward to a role-reversal this year and celebrating the steps you make in bettering your current PB. Very interested to see what the training plan is like........but more importantly before that - shopping day.

booktrunk - pretty excited but then pretty knackered too
Kirsty - I will celebrate with a large slice of Vienetta and a night away from a computer! Don't tell me I don't know how to party.
Slowkoala -I have a London ticket too so will be following Malc & hopefully picking up tips. I did it last year it's amazing!!
Malc - do not waste your shopping money with Asics on chafe cream & hats
