Gareth, tircoeds here mate, been lurking for a while, great effort and great report. Its inspired me to enter my first ever marathon in November, Valencia here I come !
Well I'm back to normal. A tough circuit session tonight and I feel amazing. I thought it would be harder than it was. The upper body was tough but the legs went fine.
OKay - well not sure what to do with this thread now. I could keep it going. I've started training for the Swansea Half Marathon. I'm blogging about it here:
Sorry it's been a while since I've been here. School is extremely busy at this time of year. Nobody has posted since 30/04 so I'm drawing this thread to a close.
I won't be posting in this thread again unless there is a question from someone.
I'll lurk around the other posts now
Best wishes and see you around - oh and good luckk to the next Asics crew.
Just thought I'd come back into here to say I finally did it at the second attempt. I ran Chester Marathon today and clocked 4:40:22 - no injuries, but really bad knees at the end.
Gutted I didn't do this in Paris - but there we have it.

Really happy with the video - thanks Runner's World for putting such an emotional journey into 5 minutes
