  • How practical is it to help on the feed station and then run as part of a relay team? There appear to be a couple suggesting, it how long does it take to get back to the run start? Can you get there quicker than you're cyclist if you see them at the feed station?

If the logistics make sense then I'll happily help out until I'm needed to run, would be a boring day hanging around waiting my turn with all the other pirates are having fun out on the course or at the feed station.

    Scuba

We can always car share.  It's generally not too bad to get back (but I haven't done it since they changed the location of the WS).  Probably quicker/easier to drive than ride but I understand Trogs rode it one year so will ask her tomorrow if she doesn't see this first.

  • HappyChap - sounds like it can be sorted one way or another so I'll add myself to the list of helpers. If your driving back then assuming our relay teams are on a similar time line a lift would be great thanks.

Yay. Thank you thank you thank you!

Thank you to all but particularly to those who have enlisted their partners who may well not be into Tri to come along too.

Nearer the time we can get our thinking caps on to try and sort out the camping stoves and tea/coffee and bacon* sarnies. Mind you, last year what we really needed was an ice box and ice creams!

    *other fillings are available.

Just had an e-mail from the Outlaw crew.  The usual drill, we need to give them some info.  When you have a chance please would you DM me with your real name, t-shirt size (they are not male/female specific so your size in a men's t-shirt), if you want to do one of the Saturday swims (for free), what distance you want to do (1.5k/3k/5k) and your e-mail address and finally, if you want to camp.

If you've not done the feedstation before, the goody bag is lovely.  The tshirts are nice, there's usually a little gift in there and a food parcel.  They bring sandwiches round in a van on the day to keep them fresh.

We need to send that info over early July, so I'll do some reminder posts nearer the time.

    Go pirate feedstationers!

  • Thanks Mouse, message sent.

Thank you to the superstars who have replied already.  I have acknowledged all your messages.  Cheggers - I've mailed you.

    You're all amazeballs!

Just cut and pasting the info from previous page:

Hi BM - I've just sent you a little query via DM.

  • DM sent... will be me and my son... both looking forward to it a lot!

lets be honest.... its all prep for an Ironman on my 100th birthday
  • I wont be on feedstation this year as I will biking it image but I will be supporting on the run at the far end of the lake just before the turn as this is the place I found hardest on the course if anyone wants to join me in handing out jellybabies etc possibly a watersoaker or two would be good if the weather continues in the current fashion.  More the merrier!

  • Post feedstation duties, Pirates are normally found as close to the bar as possible on the finish chute busting out their dance moves (as seen on ch4, innit Mouse, Meldy)

  • What are general plans with regards to the saturday swim?

Are any piratey peeps doing it, and if so, what distance?

Only until 3:00pm, when the bar will run out of beer ........ again!!

MC - I've sent you a DM back.

Saturday swim - yes, lots of interest from pirates for the 1.5km and the 3km.  Slightly less interest so far for the 5km.  I'd like to do the 5km again (I did that last year) but I have no incentive this year as I will have already raced.

Post feedstation - last year, Mrs FF/FF went to the supermarket and bought a box of beerios  and some stuff for others and the accumulated pirates ploughed their way through them on the concrete steps adjacent to the finish (though no reason why people can't go and pounce on ButterCup).  Would commend a co-ordinated attack on a local supermarket.  With a bucket and a couple of bags of ice, should be ok to keep them reasonably cold too.  I can bring a bucket if required.image

  • I would love a beerio to do my supporting with!  Supporting is thirsty work!

  • Hiya Mouse - I've replied to your last message.
