Nike Flex 2012 / 2012 Ext

I went through a lot of different shoes and a lot of shin splits before I found the Nike Flex 2012, and I've since had 3 pairs, and no shin splints...

They've now obviously been replaced by the 2013 shoe, but I'm reluctant to switch so I'm looking to get another pair before all the stock has gone, but can only find 'Flex 2012 Ext' in my size. Does anyone know the difference between the shoes, if any at all? Thanks.
