How do you mentally break down the mileage?

  • Elephant eat your way round.  Bit by bit otherwise you'd choke. Break it down into small chunks and congratulate yourself each time you reach a mini milestone. love the idea about dedicating each mile to a person. I am going to try this, sounds wonderful

  • I don't even think about it.  all my concentration is on my pace and making sure I am comfortable.  However, I do listen to music, I just don't have it on full blast so that I can also hear the crowds too.

    I am also always thinking about strategy such as fuelling and hydration as I am going to make sure I am fine.  basically I think of everything else other than the distance.
