Don't feel you're behind, it really does depend what plan your using as to what long runs you've got and when. I have events most weekend through the summer, some running, some MTB, but these throw my plan out of sync so I started early to allow for race weeks and recovery weeks. The final 6weeks will be the only uninterrupted ones for me.
hi folks, have just got in to work after a fab week end at thunder run! I can honestl asy that it was the best race I have done, a great course, well marshalled, clean toilets and hot clean showers.
Fantastic support, mostly from fellow runners between laps! I cant wait for next years event!
mIanaged 4 laps, so 40k, couldve done more but order of runs got messed up as we had a few drop out and some injuries.
the fact that most of the crowd were runners was amazing too, they ad either just run or were just about to run, and no one said "you are nearly there, keep going" !!
It was like a big running carnival, every one was really friendly, and yes, I am still buzzing!!
serious case of DOMS this morning, I did 4 very hilly miles on tuesday night, went for a 10 mile walk with gf in peak district yesterday and am feeling a bit broken this morning!!
Hi there - I'm running Chester this year. This will be my second marathon after Paris in April. Hopefully I will hit the target this time and totally avoid any injury (touch wood).
Following the sub 4:30 training plan that was put together by Sam Murphy for the Asics 262 campaign.
hi HeatherS, legs have def not recovered! I did a half yesterdy, mostly up hill, down near bournemouth. Plodded round in 1h 55, my tired legs excuse didnt wash with the GF, as she beat me by 7 minutes!!!!
Hi folks - we'll have to check out of our hotel before the start; does anyone know if there are showers available at the finish, or is there somewhere in town that can be used? Not sure I fancy travelling back home without having had some sort of "freshen up".
Hi all, my turn for doms ! Feeling like I've had a good kicking ! A hilly 14.24 yesterday 2hrs 20 ... Now that should make you feel better about your time BP !!!
Hi Kilomiler know what you mean ! Think I will be settling for the wet wipes
at races this year where I have to travel a fair way to get home, I tend to take 3 or 4 2 litre bottles of water with me, make sure that they are piping hot before setting off, leave them in the car wrapped in a towel and then have a bit of a shower with them in the car park after the race. I strip down to shorts and use shower gel and scrunchie, its not perfect, but better nothing. If the summer carries on like this, should be ok to do the same come october......
