Last minute panic... Any idea of an address for the start, so I can vaguely work out how to get there
Think i'll be staying half way down the other side of the Loch, so gotta work out how to get to the start line, think it's easier to drive there than get to Inverness and do the bus stuff
Yes BT you should get up at stupid o'clock and get the very slow bus so you are also knackered before you start like the rest of us (cos your short run last weekend isn't enough to tire someone like you out)
Started packing my kitbag, was very close to forgetting socks.
Also notice I have left my printed time bands, a pack of high5 zero tabs and those clear plastic bags you need to get liquids through the airport on my desk at work!
I must remember a plastic cup so I can taste my victory whisky from Andi
Knew I'd forgotten to pack something
Andy, I'll bring my tube of High5 Zero Tabs if you want a couple? I was gonna pop one or two in the water they give out (I use Berry flavoured Xtreme tabs with caffeine).
Photo file too big and I can't convince my children to give me their expertise in sorting this. No picture of the flag therefore but we all know what a pirate flag looks like. Someone come and find me with it or I'll look like a right idiot.
Booktrunk - you need to contact the organisers if you want a place on the bus at Dromnadroichit or Fort Augustus. They asked for an email weeks ago and have recently sent confirmation about places on the bus, so just turning up might be risky
any consolation Scott, I'm running with a sore knee a dodgy hip a full stone and a half heavier than I wanted to be and not nearly enough training! but I have had some beetroot juice!!
good luck all and remember a big smile at the end!! so gonna look for a pirate flag? lol
Just about to set off for Bristol airport. I'll see you guys and gals on the other side. Stay safe and stay relaxed. Remember we do this because we enjoy it.
Garr and I have been here since Thursday. It's absolutely breathtakingly beautiful with all sorts of weather happening, sometimes at the same time!! Yesterday there was a strong wind blowing in the right direction, I'll be needing that on the hills!
I have to try and drag myself out if holiday mode and in to race mode. I'm sure registering will make it all seem real!
Morning everyone. I drove up yesterday and made my way to the registrtaion to find my bearings, lots of registration bags being off loaded and lots of activity. The area looks stunning if a little windy. I am getting very nervous now.
it was interesting to read everyone's posts about gear etc to pack, my other half wondered if I was coming back as I habe so much gear. I have packed shorts, vest, Capri pants, t shirt, compression tights, old joggers and sweater for the start, jumper for the finish, and it goes on.... I will be prepared for all types of weather.
No marathon for me The stinking head cold which I have been doing my best to ignore has dug it's heels in. It's having a couple of days holiday and visiting my lungs. Have been coughing up ... well, I'm sure you don't want to know.
Anyhoo, I am currently on a train to Inverness since the tickets were already bought and if we'd cancelled the B&B this late we'd still have to pay.
Looking forward to meeting you all and shaking a pom-pom or two
Sorry to hear that Nurse. Hope you have a good weekend all the same. In Inverness now and it's really windy from the west. Could be helpful tomorrow... As long as the direction doesn't change!
About to pop over to pick up my race number. Should have left my wallet, running gear on sale can be too tempting!!!

just printed my pace bands... is it really on sunday?

LN website says making your own way to the start isn't possible! But the bus drives around the other side of the loch to the start, maybe you should see about one of the other stops http://www.lochnessmarathon.com/event/2/baxters-loch-ness-marathon/
Cheers x

I must try to stop being grumpy and join you all on the bus

Haha I can give away millions of high 5 tablets, after winning that competition earlier in the year, tons of them

Just got driven round the course. Looks very beautiful, and 26.2 miles is quite a long way!
Was as that the 12.10 flight? I was on that too

I'll be setting off around 1pm and arrive about 3.
Are there lots of signs for parking and registration. I'm notorious for getting lost! Actually I've gotten lost during races as well.
Headcold, sore tooth and a touch of sciatica. It must be marathon time!
Safe journey folks and see you all bright and breezy tomorrow morning.
Have a great time all..........I am jealous but couldn't make it fir on this years schedule
