What splits are you aiming for OC?
Is the course the same as previous years - a flat coastal ride and run? I can't see a course profile on the IM site...
As far as I know flat....it's the only reason I entered it....

You sorted for a Pirate top P Robbie? I've got a large you can borrow, its not a generous large so if you were thinking medium a large would probably be spot on.

Hof - thanks for kind offer. I went rogue and for IMA 2014 ordered a neon yellow Adidas running vest and had pirate logo plastered on front. It looks good for run.
Might try and get involved in next kit order but for time being should be OK. Cheers.
OC - Since IMA I've given up training. That's a lie. I've churned out good long rides for the last couple of weekends but the meaningful mid-week stuff is non existent and my running trainers are a higher percentage of dust and cobweb than they are over-engineered plastics. It sounds like Barca could be a race between us to see who breaks first!

I am driving back to Barca airport on the Monday after the race but given that I arrive on Thursday evening, have Friday & Saturday for some lunchtime Pirate beering.
I'm staying at Balmes Hotel, a few hundred metres inland from transition. Will research some bars.
#522 for me. We're flying in on the Thursday, going back Tuesday and staying at the Hotel President - again, we're a few hundred metres inland. Probably get the bus from the airport.

Sue, I presume you're travelling with bike?
If not & it's just people & luggage, I'm landing in Barcelona from Luton just before 9PM on Thursday & have smallish hire car booked already. I'm happy to throw bods in the spare seats.
Thanks Robbie, but we're landing late morning - from looking at the airport details there seems to be a bus that goes directly from the airport to Calella, so we'll just hop on there.

Sue, what's Hotel president like and how close to the start is it? Thinking of doing a weekend reckie in the spring with a plan to enter 2015 (didn't get a NO from the OH when I asked how she felt about me doing it, and it not being in school holidays so that they can't come with me!).
I am due to collect bike (which has been shipped over to Calella) on Friday morning. To mitigate against the risk of it being in pieces and me having to spend time sellotaping it back together, I'll be doing recce of bike course after lunch. I'm also keen on taking a dip either that afternoon (depending on tide) or first thing Saturday.
I have OC's no and will be in touch. If anyone else is keen, I'll say;
Hour poodle on bike course from 2PM Friday. Starting at transition / expo area.
&
Dip in sea 8:45AM Saturday.
The latter may be affected by the storms forecast this weekend, although reports are quite conflicting. BBC is predicting apocalyptic weather, Metcheck reports a nice mild weekend. I'm putting my faith in Metcheck, for now.
Anyone taking charge of organising p*ssup on Friday evening?

Been out on the bie for a bit and the bike course is lovely..... nice down hills with lots of vision so that you can really hammer.....
