The best way to improve endurance ability over time is to combine 80% of aerobic base training with 20% of High Intensity Training to a weekly fitness program. Increasing your aerobic base helps you run faster/longer distances at a lower heart rate and boost your aerobic fitness. High Intensity Training adds stress that helps an endurance athlete reach new fitness levels, improve their speed and boost VO2 Max.
You are a true runner on this forum if you join the growing crowd that high mileage is king. If you have the time to run 70 to 100+ miles per week and run 5, 6 or 7 days per week you are a true runner on Runners World.

Important to follow a gel with water so that it can be properly absorbed... Best not to forget the hydration pack too.
