I removed mine with the aid of wet wipes IGIT but the last stubborn bit came off much better with Vaseline and kitchen towel. They've left some strange sun tan lines though!
BC - looking forward to hearing all about your race.
The stats bit you can get by clicking on your name in the results are fun.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
Congratulations everyone... unfortunately one pirate DNF'ed (although was not technecially racing as a pirate today) probably karma or something... 4 punctures ruined my race, guess it all stemmed from the first one when i had to swerve out of the way quickly from an escaped water bottle and hit a pot hole. Real shame as the race seemed great! Congrats again everyone who finished! Will be back next year for my revenge!
Great effort by everyone today and may I say it was a real pleasure to join the Pirate support crew for a while and see them in action. They were out there all day and were an inspiration to runners and supporters alike.
Looking forward to joining them again on July 27th but I think we may need a few more jelly babies.
hope everyone is feeling good today - my muscles aren't as painful as my sunburn, which is weird! Maybe it'll catch up with me tomorrow! Massive thanks again to all the supporters - you guys were AMAZING!
Bows down the Little Miss and Steady CJ you ladies don't let little things like medical issues stop you!
Thanks for all the fantastic support out there today, the crew on the run made that tow path seem positively inviting. Managing a thumbs or a well done as you pass other pirates also brightens the long day up.
7Hr 27min 43seconds for me and I think I got a negative split on my run walk too About 25 mins quicker than last year and still SO MUCH FUN! Loved it and yes I did make motorbike noises on the spin down to Southwell
I heard the lake was 14 degrees and it was definitely a mite chilly at the start, my goggles misted up for the first time ever.
Home at last. Thanks for all the pirate support. Team Assassin you are awesome knowing you lot were on that towpath really helped me as I was struggling not to cry let alone smile But smile I did. Trying to focus on a swim PB and not a PW run, a tad disappointing but just means I will have to return and get my run up a level to get that sub 6 that I know I bloody have in me somewhere.
banksy - sorry, we did wonder where you were on the run, but we didn't have everyone's numbers and knew that there were some people not in kit, so we thought you were not in kit and passing us sorry to hear you had such a bad day. I think I would have chucked my bike in a ditch if I had got that many punctures!!
Great day out supporting for me Mrs SA and Jordy, all very red last night but has settled down a bit today.
Well done to all the pirates racing, you all looked really good.
To echo this, great time had supporting in a superb spot, if a little warm Was a early good laugh, although not sure I could step up to supporting a full IM would rather stick to racing them. My feet were killing and sure I've got RSI from clapping. Hope there's as much support in return when I'm at outlaw in July

Enjoyed myself mostly, even though the wheels totally fell off during the run, which is ironic considering my bike was so enjoyable!
Well done all the Pirates, supporters and competitors alike!
LMH - that'll be iprotropium - another broncho dilator to get rid of that wheezing!!!
IGIT - removing race number tattoos
Thanks SOD - I like to know these things!

That's really tough luck Banksy but at least you're OK and I'm sure you'll smash it next time out without any mechanicals or water bottle slalom.

Feel fine myself, legs slightly sore but to be expected. Sadly though I think I'm coming down with a cold!
Well done Pirates! Was super tired last night - slept like the dead - a little stiff this morning Loved the supporters and the jellybabies!

That wasn't kit that was a all over body condom.
