Recently I have been really stepping up my runs from 18 miles a week (6 miles a time) to about 22 miles. Two weeks ago my knee (at the point where the kneecap starts at the bottom) started to hurt, I have been using ibuprofen and ice and light work in the gym, but whenever I step up a step it hurts me ever so slightly. I want to know if I should carry on with ice and ibuprofen or are there any other remedies I could use, also any advice on how long this is expected to last would be great.
