Hi, I have just ordered a new road bike (my first for, ahem, 20+ years) and am looking at getting a decent set of lights.
I searched on here and there are some older threads but nothing newish that I could see. What are the current lights that I should be looking at?

The Cree branded lights on Ebay
Pretty much as ^ loads of cheap bright LED lights about now. You can spend a lot more on branded ones and they are better made with usually better beam pattern but are no brighter
OK, thanks both. I'll have a look later and get some ordered.
Plus they are as cheap as chips compared to some big name one. Which leaves a bigger budget for 2 or 3 rear lights to light you like the proverbial christmas tree
They look like they may drop to bits at first bump
I've a couple of the torches for the front - they're so cheap that you might as well have one as back up. Incredibly bright and pretty reliable.
Cougie - do you use them with rechargeable batteries?
cougie, which ones in particular? Do you have a link?
"Moon" are a great brand - light weight but sturdy, and look good too!! Re-chargeable but hold charge well!
Deal Extreme do a great front for about 25 quid. Cree 900 lumens, It annoys people. A few on here have succumbed. Ref rear, I use an Exposure Flare, yeah pricey and batteries a fiver every two years from the market but great light
