Hello everyone. Another weekend, another random prize. This time, for first lady and also first ladies' team in a 10k, I won a commemorative plate, two bottles of red wine, a box of Cadbury's Roses (so far, so normal), but also seven Mars bars and nine cans of Carlsberg.
literatin.....I love that the prizes are all fattening..........are they trying to slow you down for the next race...
Those prizes are inspiring me to go faster..... on the occasions I have won prizes its been a trophy or on one time a framed picture...never food or alcohol...
Seren, where I live not only are the prizes cake, chocolate, alcohol or a combination of all three, but there is also a giant cake buffet after every race where we all gorge ourselves on home-made cakes, sandwiches and sometimes also sausage rolls.
i race in sweden every year in a small city local 10k (my friend lives there) and the race is sponsored by local businesses, they allocate a prize to a random finish position, so you have no way of knowing if you won one, 1st place might just get the medal we all get, but 237th might get the brand new Peugeot 307,
some are coffee, a meal, a night in a hotel, one was a free tshirt printing voucher which is a bit odd.
That's the one. Unfortunately mine broke up in the bottom of the goodie bag, but I didn't realise until I tipped the bag out onto my bed. I've learnt for this year

I won a Charles Dickens book as a prize for a secondary schools track relay race in the early 1980s...
Got a Christmas Pud at the end of a race one year

The commemorative plate reminded me of Samir.
Well done on the first place!
It was 6 for first overall and 3 per winning team member, Millsy. Obviously.
I'm not sure how the mars bars were worked out.

I won a slow-cooker a couple of years ago and it's brilliant!

jd17 I was going to mention that one. Stockport 10, by any chance? I left mine out for the birdies.
I had to be finger-printed after one-race, though technically it wasn't a prize.
Was that by police for evidence purposes?? or was it done by race organisers? lol
Police - to rule me out of quite a serious crime. It was my girlfriend's fault - but I married her anyway. And it's a very long story.
Large box of liquorice allsorts ! I hate liquorice, so they were quickly passed on.
