Having done the 'standard' long course last year and Xtreme this year, I will definitely be returning. The Xtreme definitely was "an adventure in a day" - 100km, 20 peaks, 8000m ascent - brutal but superb.

These are great events - well organised, truly challenging yet truly enjoyable.

My race reports are here if you want the gory details

I'll be entering the Brecon Beacons long course again.  No plans for an Xtreme there yet, it seems.

    8000m?  That's a magic figure.

  • The short ripped huge holes in my feet (lacing issue?) and I lost most of my time on the technical ascent and descent bits, being fine on the runnable bits. So why do I fancy having a go at the long net year image

....I'd go to the extreme, but suspect I don't have the creds for it of late and experience teaches me that sometimes I go for the hardest course option available when I should hold back a bit and be patient and build up.

  • Funny enough a group of us were discussing this very race this morning after PR.

Some will be, some wont be. Not 100% sure but I more than likely will be running it.

  • The Brecon Beacons was amazing, if I'm still in one piece after the Dragons Back and LL100 I'll be back for some more.  I'll be volunteering to marshal if I'm broken though; I loved the event.
