  • if you aren't in the mood for pasta how about this one....

    fry some chicken breast (chopped into pieces) in a casserole type pan with some sliced onions. you don't need much oil to fry it - just a tsp or use a spray.

    add some chicken stock until it covers the chicken and onions by about a couple of cm add some dried apricots chopped into little pieces, a tsp each of turmeric, coriander and cumin and 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper. bring it to the boil and leave to simmer gently for ages (at least 90mins) with no lid.

    it turns into a kind of yummy sticky moroccan casserole. serve it with couscous made using vege stock. add some lemon juice and (optional) stir fried peppers and courgettes to the couscous and finish with chopped fresh coriander again.

  • No really, just really trying to lose weight, trying to cut down on carbs a bit, eat way too many.

    i'm no expert on these types of diets but i'd just go for a small portion of couscous. weigh your carbs but don't try and do without. you can't eat low fat and low carb at the same time or you'll just end up really hungry all the time.
  • No Im not that silly about it. I love rice potatoes bread and pasta, could never go without.

    but i'm a big fan of couscous for sure.

    anyway - one day when you've got time give than moroccan one a go - its nice and very easy to do - just takes a while to cook.

    OK so the first week is the easiest...and I've been training more but I've lost 1/2 stone - yes 7lb! Suppose that's the joy of doing the weigh-in the day after your long run.

    Chuffed to bits...lets hope I can keep it up..

  • Well done both of you, my weigh in is lunch time, some how don't think I've done as well as you, but anything will be great.
  • TL - as I said this is my first week so it'll be the best result...the slog starts now. Although I as my shin-splints seem to be under control I can run again which has made a difference. Now lets see what a w/e in barcelona for me is going to do....I better work hard during the week!
  • How much do I love it that there are other cuddly people on this forum and not just impressively athletic fast-running machines? LOADS! That's how much. Good luck to everyone.

  • Very happy with my weigh in yesterday. Lost 1.2 kg, think thats about 2.5 pounds. However, dont think i helped things along last night, really pigged out. Oh well, i have a week to be good before the next one.
