Is it naughty of me to start the thread when I haven't been here much

I totally forgot to post yesterday I  literally ran out of day  before going to work its been manic everyone going crazy over Black Friday

Anyway did run 2.06 miles non stop  not  bad for 3 days running

What: Hopefully 3 miles when I wake
Why: Doing what I used to do
Last  Hard: a distant memory

    Alehouse - yes it is track season - but not doing anything fast at all. Really only concentrating on getting my eyes fixed. Second op on the 9th December, so not a lot of point until next year, once I get going again.

    Little Miss Happy - When Mae sees me getting ready to go for a run she sits down and refuses to go. She's worked out who is going for a run and who is going for a walk! When she goes for a walk, it is usually on the bush tracks, so she is allowed off the lead, not so when she runs with me.

    Nice racing Gobi and RFJ!

    Pammie - saw some awful clips on TV with people going crazy on Black Friday - not nice!

    What: No run from me today.

    Why: Took 5 year old grand daughter to see a Panto - Cinderalla! It was crazy not really sticking to the old Cinderalla story very much. Lots of noise and interaction with the audience - gdaughter loved it!

    decent park running from regulars
    NZC - sounds fun, shame my two are a little too old for panto ("oh no they're not"...)
    Don - I would have advised rest to others but would probably have run myselfimage
    LmH - found head torch but traffic through town a nightmare (even at 6.30) perhaps black Friday related, so having dropped daughter #2 off for swim training 5 mins late settled on 6 miles easy in trail shoes (and head torch) on lanes I don't know.
    Yesterday - 10.6 miles on road, nice and easy
    Today - 4 hrs to kill as eldest has county hockey trials, no doubt there will be some running.

    Didn't get home till gone midnight last night and back into work at 7am this morning so really not in any mood to run tonight.  Thats 3 days in a row of nothing unless you count an hour of table tennis in a bar in London last night!!

    Morning!

    What: 9.6k largely off road. Muddy!
    Why: I have a target to try to achieve

    End of November stats: 257.78k run, 30 days run. Biggest month for years.
    So...need 286.98k in 31 days to achieve the target of 2014 in 2014...which means averaging 9.26 a day, and an even bigger month. Touch and go!

    A lovely bike ride yesterday. A bit misty murky in places, but not what you'd call fog, just atmospheric. We passed places where you'd really want to stop and take photos:
    -Sheep grazing in the dewy grass, mist hanging, but the golden sun doing its best to burn through. The slant angle created long spooky shadows.
    -Climbing a bit and seeing the mist hanging over the river area
    -Field gates with dew covered spider webs
    -A buzzard being mocked by crows

    Annoyingly I felt my calf start to tighten up after 50 miles, with 20 left to cover. It's strapped today, so I've blown my run. I'll still go swimming.

    Sorry to hear about your calf Blisters. My run this morning sounds very much like your ride, minus the buzzard.

    Easy does it Alehouse. Do you have much work on next month?

    I completed no rest November with my longest post accident run. The last mile was probably pushing the boundary of sensibleness a little but I think I've got away with. Guess I'll know for sure in the morning.

    Only 4 days work until January, I think, LMH! Am being very careful running wise and trying to stay within that boundary of sensibleness...so far! Well done with "no rest November"!

    Why: need to start pushing myself post accident and have a 30 km in just over a month

    LMH seems to be making a good recovery. Very encouraging.



    Em: hope your witness statement will help to get that reckless driver properly fined. This seems to be a never-ending story.

    Not so great news from me. I finally had my long overdue appointment at the cardiologist and it turns out that I have a valve that doesn't close properly. This explains all those strange things going on like palpitations, arrhythmia, insomnia and deterioration of running performance. I have to see another specialist in January to see if it can be fixed. Right now I'm on meds and only allowed to exercise very moderately but at least I'm not completely grounded. Doc said light exercise was better than no exercise image

    Should help you to chase that target then Alehouse. Did you have any issues with your back post shoulder injury? I'm getting lots of thoracic pain, stiffness and spasms - quite often more painful than my shoulder is now. Physio and smt are both working on it and smt thinks it may be related to the rib fractures as she can feel the two at the back and says they are definitely not as 'springy'.

    chickadee - hope there is a quick and easy fix, glad you have the ok to keep doing in the meantime.

    Evening all! Managed a 6 mile run first thing this morning, it was a truly lovely morning out there and i couldnt miss it. I do have some minor discomfort but the insoles really are working well. I will race on Saturday!!!

    Chick: sorry to hear your news, but you seem to be in good hands.

    LMH: shoulder  etc...after both breaks initially I had no back problems at all...but at some point I developed a neck issue (C5/6). Saw a specialist who, following scans, felt that the first of the breaks had damaged my neck without me realising it. I guess the lesson is that an early scan would have been beneficial!

    Keep up the consistency, Pammie: it certainly seems to work for me! All my running is currently relatively gentle whilst I build a base (and chase my target!).

    Thanks Alehouse. I think mine is muscular but will mention it to the consultant when I see him next week, just in case. The consistency seems to have been working for me too - it's amazing what you can actually achieve when you try.

    LMH: I think the key, besides the consistency, is to be patient with the pace. I think Mr. Hadd and a few others would agree!

    Evening all,

    been working from home over the weekend, so have been a tad stressed out...

    escaped for a 100 minute run earlier and kept it simple, i.e. i didnt look at the Garmin till i finished... ave pavce was a nice 8:25....

    Busy week planned ahead
