I also wear my contacts lenses to run in - but I wear sports sunglasses too, to stop flies going into my eyes! Get some funny looks though when I go out wearing them when there's no sun and it's all overcast..
Being from Glasgow means that you either get used to playing in the rain or you spend most of your days in the house looking out of the window.... rain doesn't bother me in the slightest and I always tell people what Glenn said (or was it Will) "your skins waterproof".. people always think I'm mad when I wear shorts in the rain until I get indoors and rub my legs with a towel and they are left sitting in wet trousers.
Like you, Gordon, I'm from the West of Scotland so I'm waterproof. Still prefer not to go out running in the rain, though. Not even WW could convince me that being freezing cold with wet clothes and puddles inside my shoes is a comparable experience to having a hot shower. And drying the shoes afterwards is a pain. I have two pairs of ditchwater-scented trainers.
hi guys not checked in today because no exercise (am still in bed) and no food either... no actual vomiting but a fair amount of nausea. Still I wanted to say you guys, the excuses you comeup with - I must remember them and also the jaffa cakes = fruit thing, I daren't let the Mr see that he'll never eat fruit again (not that he does anyway). Take care all and well done for keeping it up )
I just read the "Miracle Cure for all" thread and I must admit to being a bit thick because I didn't get what the BBB character was going on about - you know hippo's and stuff..?
I know what you mean about the smelly trainers - I have only one pair, and when they got soaked in the Croydon 10K last year, they started smelling really really bad after - had to put them through the machine a couple of times - they're OK now, but I should get some new ones!
I think jaffa cakes are a better alternative to most cakes and biscuits (think there was something in RW mag once about them being the "better" option, but the best was malt loaf, I think).
I love malt loaf!!! Definitely my favourite morning, afternoon and evening snack... much better than jaffa cakes... I may start a malt loaf vs jaffa cakes thread...
Ok... Jaffa Cakes vs Malt Loaf thread now underway... I suspect that I might lose this one based on the apparent fascination with Jaffa Cakes but I will have my say about the marvel that is malt loaf
mini jaffa cakes and malt loaf but fig rolls ah fig rolls - I feel a nigella moment coming on - fig rolls and green and blacks dark organic chocalate - iron magnesium and carbs (or so i've led meself to believe!)
Evening.. What a rotten day I have had .. now what a great evening I'm going to have .. didn't get a chance to eat today ... so cooked dinner as soon as I came home.. even boiled my own potatoes .. that is rather than cooking chips !!! Just going to jump in a lovely warm bath with my book .. Wilbur Smith .. the book is chronic .. but as I hate not to finish a book ,.. be that good or bad .. I'm suffering my way through it... only on my 3rd beer as well .. so I'm really being good ... mmm I'v been home less than 2 hours .. ahh well... Fav biccies .. dry T biscuits .. and no I dont dip them... that's another yukk !!!
Will somebody lock Anne Widdecombe up for crimes against - well anything!
I wish I could go away for weekends and have my own personal mr motivator then have nice personal nutritionists train me in the mornings ! no I'm serious I'd swap with Rick Wailer if he can't hack being helped to improve his health -grrrrr
