Anyone had shin spints?

Am suffering pain when running in my shin area on my right leg

This seems to be in the muscle on the outside of the shine bone and feel like lots of little needles pricking the bone and a dull ache. Havent run since Friday but can still feel pain in the area and the muscle feels slightly warm

Is this actually shin splints or something else?

Could be. Have you started increasing mileage or speed work?

ice it, back off the miles and speed and it will sort itself out.
