Post run recovery

After some advice please on post run recovery. I am in the transition from road to trail with the goal of competing my first ultra in July. On my current long off road runs which are up to 17 miles I get very cold after I finish running. I make sure that I am changing into dry clothes straight away and have a hot shower as quickly as possible. Even after doing this I still don't feel right and feel cold for the next 30 minutes until I become completely warm through again. 

I am sure that this has something to do with blood sugar levels but am unsure whether I need to be taking more sugars on during my run or should just stuff myself with chocolate as soon as I finish.

Apologies if this is a stupid question but just want to finish a run and feel as normal as possible. Thanks in advance for any advice.
