Absolutely beautiful day for a run and five minutes in I got attacked by two huge Alsation dogs. I spotted them from quite a distance so slowed to a walk, but as soon as they say me - they were off their leads - they came running over. They jumped up at me and one bit my arm while the other bit me on the bum. The owner comes running over and attempts to call them off, while apologising. I stood there shouting at him to put the leads on, which he did after about five minutes. I was too shocked to say much more, except when he asked me if I was all right. No, I'm bloody not, was my answer.
What makes me even angier about the whole incident is that they were lovely dogs only doing their job, as they saw it, of protecting their owner who was clearly out of control with them, and that if they carry on like that, they'll end up being destroyed through their owner's stupidity.

I've been brought down by a dog & had to go home with blood running down my legs, with no apology from the owner.
Another time I got a head butt in my quad, I had to stop running, limp the 2M home & didn't run for two days it was that painful!

Shoot the owner and send the dogs to the police force for training. They obviously have a flair for sussing dodgy people. ;-)
(caught the archers for 1st time in ages today. Bummer about the cattle !)

Afraid i disagree with Dodge. Dogs that attack should be destroyed. After the first time they bite some-one. No exceptions. Then the bill for the destrction and disposal of said animal should be sent to the owner.
I don't like the idea of having the dogs put down either, but then again I don't like the idea of more peeps being attacked. Maybe suitable dogs could be given to the police for training or something? Certainly not left with irresponsible owners.
As for the tetanus jab, that'll keep JJ busy ;o)

By nature all dogs have sharp teeth & like to bite, even a terrier or a toy dog could cause you damage, (albeit not life threatening) so all dogs should be destroyed? Do not agree.
It should be compulsory for *all* dogs to wear muzzles in public places, then you would have none of these problems.

I do wonder why people want to keep potentially dangerous dogs in the first place. If you want to buy a car, you go through months of training before you're allowed to drive. You have to have to have insurance and any unlaful use of the car is dealt with in the courts.
It strikes me that any bonehead can get hinself a trophy dog with the intention of striking fear into all he meets.
No, I dont believe a dog is allowed one "mistake". If a dog has bitten once it will bite again. Why wait?
if he refuses call the police on your mobile, follow him home etc
