    Nice miles Dustin.

Not every day can be our day Donaldo and lots of thing scan make the difference as to whether it is or not.

Maybe it was something in the air then Alehouse? Hopefully they'll both work today.

Sounds as though you're looking forward to that day off birks.

    Morning!

    Lyrics: indeed!

And indeed very well done Joe!

I dare say a few people's legs will ache this morning!  Mine do and I haven't even done much running!

What: a short run (or two) in the wind (and probably rain by the time I get out)

Why: legs are sore from furniture removing and driving...wish it was running related!

Just switched on my Garmin and has found a signal straightaway today!

Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

    Morning again!

Heading in the right direction, Wabo!

    What: 3.5k

Why: running errands. May run again later...but not if the torrential rain and sleet that is forecast happens!

Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

    Afternoon

What: maybe a short run but not feeling good
Why: weekend in UK was great, but was quite ill yesterday :S  5 km post accident pb on Saturday though image
    Last hard: moving yesterday
    Lyrics: I think so...

    well done Joe image
    Have a good one all.

    Afternoon all

LMH/Ale honest, I wasn't racing, kept under 85% MHR like a good boy on Sat and was even better behaved on Sunday. Plodded out a 58 at the 10k. It was horrible, windy, horizontal rain with some sleet/hail for good measure yet ironically I really enjoyed the jog with my running buddy who was really having a bad day at the office.
I'd recommend the Calne race for anyone chasing a fast time, although the start and finish might wreck a pb.
Lyrics: I'm of an age I have to say yes or be shot!
    What: Gentle 6ish
Why: Ale told me to go carefulimage (He is right of course!)
    Last hard: Last Thursday
    Last Rest: Last Tuesday

Emzap: Get better soon. Joe Hawk: Fabulous. LMH, keep us posted re-targets.
    Have a great day all.

    Hiya,
Joe - good work on the double mara
    SC - solid effort too
    RFJ - yep, Overton-Combe Gibbet-Overton
what - possibly 3 miles easy later
why - see if I can still run
    last hard - yesterday
    last rest - Saturday
Surprisingly I think my legs are in better shape than they usually are after a marathon. Combination of the extra miles and 'easier' pacing perhaps.
Still knackered though, so pleased it's a short week!

  • Enjoying it is what it's about SC. Will do re the targets.

Well done Wabo and emzap with the 5ks. Hope you feel better emzap.

Nice running Joe. Congratulations on the win.

Your legs are getting tough Dustin.

Take it easy yourself Alehouse if the legs don't feel good. My Garmin locked on fine this morning - is refusing to download any history now.

Hope you have a good run Pammie.

If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

SC: you give me hope that I may still get the odd PB going forward image

Wow, Joe. How many marathons will you be doing this year?

    alehouse wrote (see)

Interesting course, Chick. I've done quite a bit of work on the behaviour management of children but very much on the "mental" side of things, although I have done some restraint training. I find that distraction techniques work the best (I used to head a unit for Behavioural, Social and Emotional Difficulties):  "have you got new shoes/what do you think about Zayn leaving 1-D/is it true your mum's having a new baby?"  (even when you have no idea whether they are or not!) tends to deflect them before you have to get to the physical stage.

Very interesting coz our coach's main profession is social worker dealing with criminal youths and kids with behavioural problems, so very similar to what you did.

Chicksta sounds interesting will you  have regular  lessons or  is that it

TBH, it's too hard core. We had 2 injured people yesterday. They weren't injured in yesterday's class but during training the week before image I love my running too much and don't want to jeopardise it by martial arts classes, interesting as they may be.

what: something very short given the weather and my sore muscles
why: only 2 more days in March and I will have run every day this month image
last hard: other people's limbs yesterday
    last rest: 26/2
    lyrics: yes

    Afternoon

LMH thanks not a bad run. not easy but  not hard, ended  up doing 3 miles in over 31 minutes)

And yes now to the lyrics

  • alehousealehouse ✭✭✭

Decided to take your advice, LMH, and the legs are having an evening off! Only one more day working until the 20th April! Should be able to get a few decent long runs in, although will be working around finishing off mum's house clearance and two three night breaks in France and Spain!

Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

I am on the beautiful Isle of Skye and managed a hilly 8 mile run today. Windy and wet but a pleasant evening.

    Lyrics, of course!
  • Chicksta - That was 10/11 and I'm looking to do 70 ish :-S

    http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/JoeHawkins

I know its a cheeky plug but it's for a whole years effort and there is no way I'm ever going to do anything like this ever again. After this year it will be very much back down to a normal'ish number of marathons (twenty or soimage )

  • StrayceltStraycelt ✭✭✭

Kicked off JH...good luck you mad man, you are an inspiration

  • Pammie*Pammie* ✭✭✭

Joe that made  me smile normal = 20 or so

  • What: quick visit to Bheine Bhraggie to pay our respects to Lord Sutherland

why: stretch our legs and break the journey

    last rest: Thursday

    last hard: Sunday
