Bryan: Breathe in...hold for 10s....breathe out. Keep taking the medication.

    ;-)

If possible why don't you guys&gals come to the London Social on Fri 27th Feb. Will be good to meet up.

    Loopyloo: Look forward to it.

  • What and where is the London Social?
  • nrg-bnrg-b ✭✭✭
    Loopyloo: See this thread.
  • ooooooooooppss
    forgot I started this thread.

I havent got my race pask yet and as i sent it off 4 wks ago, bit worried it might be lost in the post.

not sure on time yet, was planning a 20 miler the day before with Sloth, then we will use RV as a recovery run

If not will skip the 20 and go for it at RV.............sub 1.40 would be nice, but not too worried as I am at Silverstone the week after and that is the biggest PB course
  • nrg-b - will try to get there if hubby agrees to babysit the kids! Otherwise will look out for no.4 on Sunday.

  • can't make it to the social this month (the 30th birthday celebrations continue with a black tie dinner at worcester rugby club)
  • I live about 5 mins from the start of this race and this year will be the first time I have run this. Am looking to do it in about 2 hours - hopefully!

The last half I did was Paddock Wood last year but have done loads of 10 milers since then so hopefully should be ok!

  • Guys I've run this race 3 times and it is not a PB course. Still waiting for my number, but hoping to finish in 2:05

  • Hi people

Anyone fancy running a lap of the Roding Valley on Friday morning, say about 10.00 a.m.? I usually park at the Brook Parade shops in Chigwell and start the run from there.

  • Hopefully I'll be running this, entering on the day! My target is between 1.40 and 1.45, but I should not be too ambitious judging by what has been said about this not being a PB course!

    I seem to have a hip-flexor / upper-inner thigh muscle/tendon strain that's starts to hurt from about 30-45 mins into a run.

Its weird that if I run slowly then it hurts. Running fast is sort of OK.

Loopy: would love to come running on Friday at 10AM but I have this silly thing called 'work' which gets in the way of my social life ;-)

    Update is:-

    #4 NRG-B A bit of a POSE'ur, it's his first one so be gentle!

#23 M Will she break the magic deux heures?

#8 Walthamstow Wanderer A mystery man going round in 1.45, to make sure he catches the footy
Raf - will be there, hope to get close to 1.40, will be entering on the day.
    #148 Creaky knees Yikes Scoobs
#206 Sloth - aiming for between 2 and 3 hrs!
?? URR Being a last-minute tart, he likes 'em bumpy!
?? Pansie Is anything but one.
?? Jason L third time lucky

    Can't make it:
Womble - LSD and Bramley apples
Azee Swaleheen - whacking out more enamel medals in his tool shed

  • aha - the mystery wanderer returns......
  • Woooo Hooo Hoo Hoo Ho Hooo
    Mys te re uos girl
I wanna get close to you

The 1.45 is out of the window. I have't been able to trundle for a while. (Knee injury). Looking at 2hrs, which seems more social.
  • We're all going round in two hours - whooo-hooo!

Not so much a race as a training run!

Has anyone got a portable DVD player, we could watch a film on the way round.
  • 2hrs is definitely a race for me!!!!

  • looks like we got a group thang goin' on.

do we all fancy meeting up before hand and running as a group????
  • Provisionally yes - depends on knee.
  • oooh have just printed off the race course - yikes am starting to get nervous. Yep am with the 2 hour groupies - might be a bit slower as I have been unwell the last week.

Am picking up number tonight - will let you guys know what it is, so that if you see me u can hurl abuse or encouragement depending on whether I am slacking or doing ok!
  • I'll be back for a third go at this one. It's not an easy course and the traffic is a bit of a pain at times, but I do like the race and it's my local half marathon so it's one I'll be running as often as I can.
I have my number - 7 - which is the lowest number I ever had. I might even pass for one of the elite runners until the race starts!
  • Possibly too zippy for the 2hrs, but I will cheer you all on (in case I catch you) :)
  • Very much looks like quite a few of us are aiming for a 2 hour finish. Portable DVD player great idea. Will look out for those I know on Sunday(people, not DVD players!) and look forward to meeting others.

Sloth - hope your legs have recovered. Mine were a little tired today and are stiffening up as I type! Feeling very tired today as well, but felt that last night was very helpful and look forward to more of the same. Hope you, Legless and Humpless enjoy your long run on Saturday and look forward to hearing about it on Sunday as we're watching the DVD.

nrg-b - look forward to putting face to name on Sunday.

Is anyone running the 15 mile training run on March 7th at Brentwood?
  • got my number -255.

    no backing out now.
