im aiming at 1.50 , m8 is gunning for 1.36.
My other friend is using it as a training run for london as not done a race before.
not the 2hours i was hoping for but a pb anyway and given the rather undulating nature of the course i'm pretty happy with that!

They posted the results outside the club house as the results came in. I was No. 110.
zilla had to drop out at 7 miles :-(

Course was a bit of a git, and I really suffered from too many Guinnesses on Friday and Saturday, there was something nasty bubbling down below. Had to stop for an informal toilet break!
Took the mini-lap and the first big lap easy, then I put my foot down doing the last 6 in about 40 mins.
I thought the finish was on the track. I didn't kick for home at all! I almost carried on running past the finish line! D'oh!
Didnt think there was an abundence of marshalls there, but at least the medal makes a nice bookmark!

I see what you mean about the traffic being a problem, it was quite hairy on the section from Chigwell to Buckhurst Hill near the playing fields. Also, the inclines were significant, and they seemed so much steeper on the second big lap!!!!
Broke 100 mins by 17 seconds, so so pleased - will not forget how tired I was from mile 8 or so onwards, I have a 20-mile run next Sunday (Wymondham 20) and I am already very nervous about that one!
I ran Reading in 2002, it was flatter than RV, had a couple of inclines and was a good course. Good luck nrg-b!

nrg-b - looked for no 4 everywhere at the start of the race - couldn't find you!!! Wasn't able to hang about at end of the race (was probably one of the last to finish at 2:19 - not a comfortable run for me today - really struggled to finish). Sounds like you did well though. Let me know if you're going to Brentwood and maybe we can meet up.

Yes, I'm running Brentwood too (will be three in a row). This time I guarantee the completion time will be around 2:00 - 2:20 since I'm pacing a work colleague who is a newbie runner.

M - I am guessing you were overtaking me on the hills then once there was a flat or a downhill I came past you.... I kept slowing down and then on the downhills desperately tried to make some time up. By the way M what were you wearing, I might remember you!
Next one is Brentwood - anyone else doing this one?
i was wearing a blue base layer and black vest with blue yellow and green horizontal stripes and had a red nathan waterbottle round my middle!
i'm doing thanet 20 next week then a 22 training run, the mondi 15 and oakley 12
its a shame as i was really hoping to do a sub 2 half before rotterdam - it would have been a much needed confidence boost.
