About kit to wear I used fingerless watersports gloves, neoprene on one side rubber on the other (only £5 from Decathlon). Worked a treat, although dumped them after plunge for dry ones.
Kept their spare gloves and woolly hat in sealed bags in a bum bag which I didn't really notice. Put dry hat on after water tunnel and noticed the difference right away, although took it off and passed it to a mate to keep dry for the plunge as he walked across. Other than that I had my running tights on, long sleeve thermal, t-shirt, running socks and road shoes. Vaselined feet, nips and other bits quite a bit too and felt like I had no problems with them. The only thing I would change for next time is getting some trail/cross country shoes as I really struggled to move at any pace on the muddy bits that perhaps weren't meant to be muddy. My mate wore walking shoes and had no problems with the mud.
Any tips from anyone else??
Is anyone planning on NettleWarrior? Seems a bit wimpy compared to yesterday after all it'll be warm!!
I did tough guy yesterday and came 34 woman in. swore I would never do it again! Jumping off that plank into the lake was bloody aful. At the finish in the barn could not stop shaking was throwing my hot chocolate all over the place and some guy said are you alright and I said just a bit cold. He gave me a huge hug, we were standing like that for ages. Nice thing to do, great just what you need because it is quite tough to finish it!
Oh it was YOU!! In the Nail Art t-shirt?? Imelda spotted you and we thought we remembered someone saying something about the t-shirt, and you started walking towards us....
Has anyone else got tremendous and/or exciting injuries? I appear to have odd lumps popping up under my skin and I also have an attractive hand print on my right forearm. That's in addition to what looks like carpet burn down both legs...
I look like I've been beaten with a big knobbly stick.
I have bruises up the front of both of my shins and a huge purple speckly bruise on the inside of my left knee from when I didn't quite get the height right as I was hurling myself over one of the pipes at the anaconda.
Have also got cuts, lumps and bruises on my forearms.
My senior watched me wincing as I tried to rest my arms on my desk, sighed and said "God, look at the state of you". Felt like a puppy being told off!
All in all I think they look pretty spectacular though!!
Petal, Bod and Miss P, I have a couple of piccies. If your interested send me an email and I will email em back to you. The one of the four of us came out quite well.
Anyone else take longer trying to clean there kit last night than actually doing the event....... Probably tripled my water bill trying to get the sand /silt and pebbles out of the shoes!
The only kit I've kept after TG are my tights and my trainers, the rest have been binned. What was left though took a while and my bath resembled the dead leg swamp!!
As for being at home watching Richard & Judy, I had the day off work cos it was my b'day!!
Got a few bruises, seems that every time I have a shower I keep feeling new bruises although I can't actually see any marks yet.
Three washes and all my kit has come up looking good as new (with the odd rip). Still no feeling in the end of my little finger - anyone else suffering from similar?

Hugs are a universal cure all.
And I'm amazed at how many of you get home in time to watch Richard and Judy.
¦oD
Can't wait to do it again next year.
Thanks to Celtic Duo for leading me to 'hanging nail cavern' sorry I lost sight of you after that until briefly at the end.
Sorry I didn't get to meet anyone else.
I lost count of the number of people that took my picture (must've been my bright red beard).
Definately the hardest but funniest 2hrs55mins of my life.
Sealskinz gloves are the B*llox btw :O)
...then veered off towards the loo!

I knew their names, they're nice people.
soaked it twice
quick wash
& then proper wash
although seeing as i'd already written the kit off befoer i started the event i did use a hotter wash than i normally would.
look at the TG race reviews, who is this xxxxx character? has done some very critical reviews without proper comments. tut tut

I think the mud was poisonous, I have an itchy red rash all over my legs, well the bits that arent purple and black
And it is just as well I can wear long sleeves for my job interview!
