I have done the Nettle Warrior twice and it is fun, but nothing like the atmosphere of the Winter one, you only get about 1000 people doing it in the Summer, it is a shorter run but you have to do the assault course twice.
I had a lovely chat to the St Johns ambulance girls - they seem to like the chance to practice their skills. Some guy had an epileptic fit even before the start apparently.
everyone thinks I'm mad except me - so maybe it's all self-delusional and I really am a wibbling fool......
I will stop when I drop, or my body is no longer capable of attempting these things.....
I will do TG again next year and then stop - 3 will be enough as I always need new challenges
after this FLM/IMCH year I will take stock of where I go in 2006 and beyond - am starting to get the travel bug again and have some climbing/biking challenges that have been on the back burner for a while (Mt Blanc & Elbrus on skis, MTB in Vietnam) that need looking at again.........
If I've made top 100 this year then I'm well up for fancy dress. In fact it has to be said on the day I felt a little crap that I wasn't in fancy dress.
The guys in suits just crack me up....
I just need to get hold of an old kilt then I'd be sorted.
Now that would be some view on the tiger traps ;~)
how about we enter a team for Nettle Warrior? That way we can get away with wearing ridiculous and skimpy fancy dress without risking getting hypothermia )
Don't think I can wait a whole year to get on that course again!
I have just opened the black bag wih my gear from Sunday in it. It is the blackest pile of clothes I have ever seen. My wife would not even clean it for me!!
I think the trainers have had it though. But they were done in before this event anyway.
I'm going to have a go at some orienteering later in the year.
The Malvern Harlequins Orienteering Club are doing a serious of beginners events late summer this year, which introduces you into all the rules and regs. There are quite a lot of things you have to abide by especially if you do ant night time events.
I was to the right of you, so didn't have to cross the field. Loved the look of terror on those cadets faces as a few thousand people hurtled into them.
Mind you - I probably had the same look when I had to go back and recover my s*ddin' shoe from that first marsh !
was there a form?? didn't even read the stuff as I get baffled by Mousa's ramblings and it went in my paper recycle bin when I got back on Sunday so will try to dig it out.....
mmm don't think I could wangle a trip away that close the the 17th. Shame as I'd like to give it a bash just to see the differnce (probably 17 degrees).

Doesn't match up to TG but I suppose it's a bit different!
And FB, you can't stop at 3, the leather thing to put your horse brasses on takes four medals so you need to do four at least.

Just watched the 30 seconds they show and there's you as soon as the gun goes sprinting the gap to the Front Squad !
Way to go !
Is that bad for it?
I though the hardest obstacle was getting out of the bath at the end when you had to fight your way through the foil blankets.
ie - Running events with a bit of extra spice....so much more fun than a standard run!

Can't wait...another 1 second of fame.
Bet Rich wasn't on the video...he was the wrong side of a horse's arse!
Didn't see any other yellow teeshirts.
Anyone entered yet ?
and yes to fancy dress - loved the guys wearing dresses and carrying handbags.......complete with lippy, makeup etc........
So, any takers for NW?

Just how much warmer is that water in Juy??
