Heartbreaker marathon, time difference from road?

Hi all,

I just completed the heartbreaker marathon in the new forest and, as it's a hilly trail marathon, wondered how much this tends to affect race times compared to a flat road race. 

This was my first marathon (I should probably have read the course description) and I came in at 3:54. For anyone who has done this race, how much did it differ from your road times? Would be great to get an idea of what I should be aiming for when I go for a road race. Thanks in advance!

It's hard to give an exact answer as it will depend on how good / bad you are at hills and off road. I did 3.11 there in 2014 when PB from London was 2.58. I did go into the heartbreaker without a taper though.
