Didn't ELO do an album called "A New World Record", which seems appropriate given last Sunday's events in Chicago.
And talking of Paula Radcliffe (we're not worthy!) many of her opponents may well be thinking of the Verve (or is it The Verve) song "The Drugs Don't Work".
On Your Feet Or On Your Knees - Blue Oyster Cult (OK, it's an album, but it should still count...)
And there's one that's been bugging me - I don't know what it's called or who it's by, but it goes: "Run for home, running fast, as I can, woah-oh-oh, running, running for home". Anyone got any ideas?
Mr A, the one you describe is "Run for Home" by Lindisfarne. Late 1970s, I think.
What about "The Jogger's Song" - it was the B side of The Oldest Swinger in Town by Fred Wedlock, and was probably better.
"Now listen Fred, me missus said, you're getting much too fat She poked me in the belly, saying you'll 'ave to shift all that You'll 'ave to get some ek-ser-soize, you'll 'ave to understand A balanced diet doesn't mean a pint in oiver 'and..."
God. You mean I've been singing a Lindisfarne song all weekend? (
I'm going to have to go home and play something terrible to wipe it out of my head...Thank God it's only six days till Broooce and I can hear some proper live music...
