I'm running the Worlds in Cardiff later this month. I'm one of the masses hoping to come close to my 1hr 38min time for Cardiff half last year.
Thing is that I normally run in the morning on a breakfast of Porridge & maybe a couple of slices of toast.
The start time for this is ten past two so I'm thinking normal porridge breakfast and maybe a light lunch at 12, plenty of time to digest, any thoughts appreciated.
Anyone else doing the race? should be a great event.

Why don't you try it out before the big day ?
for £60 dont they provide you with a packed lunch
I'm running it, and have been wondering the same thing. I've done a couple of early afternoon training runs, pretty much as you've described - decent breakfast, and an early-ish light lunch. That's worked pretty well for me so far.
Really looking forward to it. Should be a great event. I've not done the Cardiff Half before, but it looks like a good course. Hoping to get somewhere around (hopefully under) my PB.
Dave, yeah was planning to have a few practice goes. Just wondering if anyone had any tips to pass on.
Seren, I know, a bit pricey but I picked up my entry from my Brother in Law & thought it's a one off event I'm likely to do.
Try it out before the big day How's that for a tip ?
Best thing to do about food is practice several times in advance so it feels normal on race day.
Good luck!
its the same course as the normal Cardiff half......there are a couple of nasty inclines in it.not totally flat...
