It's St Piran's Day - the patron saint of Cornwall (and also of tin miners and drunkards, apparently).
Must eat a pasty and sink a pint of Betty Stogs to celebrate.
And maybe a cream tea as well. NB to Devon: it's jam first.
Gool Peran Lowen one and all

Ah yes, Tribute. A sound choice. A bottle of that was in the goody bag of the Falmouth Half a couple of years back.

Jam first?.....not here!
Happy St Pirrans Day Mutley
And the cream must be Roddas.
Wish I'd seen this earlier, any excuse for a pint of Tribute. Especially one in the Old Success, Sennen Too busy today celebrating the Spitfire's 80th birthday...
Did anyone get to The Cousin Jacks Classic Coastal Run yesterday?! It was awesome ... extreme / severe coastal path event organised for St Piran's Day ... 17 miles from St Just - Cape Cornwall - to St Ives, with a whole bunch of hard core off-road runners, started at 10am ... I did some & took a few photos
That sounds like a proper run. I did the reverse route a few years back as part of the Atlantic Coast Challenge, day three being St Ives all the way to Land's End. I remember miles of sticky swamps about Zennor way. I also got lost at Geevor and veered off the coastal path. I realised I'd gone wrong when the path I was on petered out into a ledge above a small cove with sheer cliffs beneath me. I gingerly reversed out and eventually found my way.
