I wonder if some experienced marathon runners could help with this.
I did the London Marathon on Sunday and was disappointed with my time. Yes, I know I should just be satisfied I completed it (or so my husband says), but I want to do another one this year, just to prove to myself I can get a better time - and to give myself a GFA for London 2018.
I am doing Ride London this year at the end of July, and I read somewhere that I shouldn't do a lot of running while I am bike training.
My question therefore is, how long do I need to allow before my next marathon? I am over 60 and don't want to put my body through a heavy training schedule, but am well aware that I need to get some good mileage in. I intend to keep my running fitness up during the bike training, so that I can start at, at least,10 miles from the beginning of August.
How many weeks do you reckon I need?
Thanks for any help.
