whats the thing with his wife? I am assuming she ran it under her maiden name as they appear to have got married last Autumn? All the photos on the results are clearly her and the number matches her.
Oh god, that's me, sorry, didn't mean to hang her as well. Misread one of the other comments about club runner & gfa etc. and thought it was referring to her.
The one thing in all this that leaves a shred of doubt as being inconsistent is how he managed to hang around that area for quite so long and how he persuaded his wife he was able to post such an amazing second half.

I won't Internet shame him but if he's cheated a gfa somehow they can deal with him!
I e-mailed the general helpdesk address from the main site with a link to his results asking how on earth they are still valid given the various factors we have all discussed. The madness for me is claiming chip malfunction yet being propelled forward in time by 1 hour! Photo's don't lie!
I have loved reading this thread which is a reminder that there are indeed good honest people around with strong moral principles, despite the cheaters who are happy to deceive others.
At 5 hours 29 - they're not getting a GFA or anything. I'm not bothered about missing split times unless there's something up with the splits themselves.
I'm not sure that is what the post is saying happened|? I guess their motivation at that pace to skip 5 mioes would be to finish before the 7 hour cut off!
I've been following this blog and think it's sooo funny, these participants must all have the brains of rocking horses, they obviously set out to cheat, but apart from 43227, who wore the little black outfit, none of them thought it through. The numnuts could have covered all the mats and still cut off up to 10 miles from the course and not been caught
Always good fun reading about the cheaters, whether they be unwitting or calculated.
Whatever happened to that Brighton Marathon woman. Her time still quite ridiculously stands, even though it was massively out of line with the other 99% of races she'd ever done. Not to mention missing from a key section of the race, no split or photos. All dressed up as "chip issues".
This morning, just for a laugh,my son and I left Greenwich partk at 10.20, with an Oyster card, watch and a 4.30 finish wrist band, 4 hours and 23 minutes later we were in the Mall, having covered all the mats, taking about 10 miles off of the route and allowing the "train (DLR) to take the strain, so there you go, apply the 7p rule and you can complete London marathon easily without people knowing you've cheated, lol
I think the splits should be okay, we made sure,as best we could, that we passed the mile markers/5k mat areas as near to the pace band as possible, sometimes easier than others, lol.
Ironically, if you were to publish a blog detailing exactly how it's done, trains to get and all that, it might actually spur VLM into actually doing something about it.
We are thinking about trying out using a 3.45-4.00 pace and, but that will be later in the year when temperatures are better,( and we may be fitter, lol
am intrigued as to how you got public transport to the 5k marker? you'd have to walk down to Greenwich and get the train and then walk at the other end- surely a bit tight to hit it in 30 minutes?
