Friday 15th September 2017 - Baby now don’t look back

Morning.

Lyrics - Baby now don’t look back

What:              short and easy
Why:               tapering
Last hard:       having the house filled with the smell of baking xmas cake all afternoon - it made me feel so hungry!
Last rest:        15/7
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

  • Nothing beats that smell LmH
Already one danish down this morning (after toast at home), and colleague has suggested croissants.
It's going to be a cake day I think!

what - some miles at lunchtime
    why - calorie control
    last rest - Monday
    last hard - Tuesday
    lyric - sounds familiar

LmH asked about upcoming races - mainly xc but South Of England road relays on 24/09, local half (Basingstoke) on 01/10, first XC the week after (we host). None of these are goal races really. Hellrunner in November with some friends.
Debating a December marathon, possibly trail (Coastal Trail) but as yet undecided.
  • Morning!

Lyrics: seem to be coming up with all sorts of possibilities...so, no!

    What: fitness suite later

    Why: working

Doesn't seem to be a reaction to yesterday's a-g treadmill.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

Giselle had a lovely birthday we went to a local farm, she loved it!
Have a great weekend all, club handicap tomorrow afternoon for me - 5 miles.  Then a serious long one on Sunday must happen!!
possunt quia posse videntur - we can because we know we can
  • I miss Danish pastries Dustin - never found a good gf one. How about Portsmouth?

    Sounds positive Alehouse.

I'm sure you'd enjoy the 10k OH. Hope you have a stress free journey home.

Doesn't sound like much fun Poppy.

It's good to hear that Giselle had a nice birthday Wabo. Enjoy whatever you're going to the O2 to see and have a god running weekend.

A heavy legged, sluggish run for me this morning. I'm not as fast as I was before London last year but I wasn't running at this stage before London this year so who knows what's going to happen next weekend?
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Good afternoon everybod! Exercises from physio for Achilles sorted out and in full swing. Shoes and socks not even off and he spotted the guilty one. Well it is almost twice as thick as t'other :-) Told me to keep on running up to a pain threshold 7/10. Excellent news. Been quacked and flu jabbed this morning
    What: Maybe 4 ish
Why: Working back up and need to run before jab kicks in and I feel yuk
Last Hard: accepting no pain no gain is actually, in some cases, a mantra
    Last Rest: Yesterday
    Lyrics: Nope
Well done to all who have managed out. Thinking of Christmas cake and Danish p not good for my waistline.

possunt quia posse videntur - we can because we know we can
  • Shocked to hear that there was another attack on the tube :o
Hope everyone on here and their loved ones are OK.

I bet your house smells yum, LMH :). Your sluggishness is probably just typical taper madness.

    Enjoy the O2, wabo.

    Good news, SC and ale.

    Glad you're feeling better, poppy.

Dustin: those races sound like there's a lot of mud is coming your way :)

I was put on the naughty step yesterday by my osteo... But I was really good today o:) Only an hour in the pool. No running today. Osteo suggested I alternate treadmill (or road) running with pool running if I feel the urge. I may try that. Have never checked this out before. I sort of prefer pool swimming. But I'm going to get myself on of these floaty belt thingies and have a go. Apparently pool running is really good to improve your running posture.

    What: swim
    Why: naughty step
    last hard: naughty step
    last rest: 5/8
    lyrics: no

    Yesterday's were REM - Drive.

  • Afternoon!

Good to hear that Giselle enjoyed birthday number 3, Wabo!

    Naughty Chick

    Sounds promising, SC!

Was that fly home maybe or maybe run, OH, knowing Flymaybe as you do?

    What: gentle gym work

    Why: sensible head

Going to up the walking a little over the weekend and perhaps back off everything else. Don't want too many variables in the rehab equation!

Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Good luck with the pool running chicksta.

Hope the weather is good for your walking Alehouse - I was soaked through on this afternoon's dog walk.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Smooth trip home with Loganair (not Flybe) if we forgive them for telling us we were on the wrong plane. The crew were finishing at Glasgow and hadn't realised the plane was going on to Kirkwall.
9 miles run, not fast but slowly building up the miles ...
  • Local 10k deferred one week so decision made for me (we'll be in Shetland then)

  • Oh and glasses fixed by local optician, gratis, while I waited.  :D
[Stockport optician had said they would need to send them away to a lab]
