Experience of online running coaches

Has anyone had good experience of using an online running coach to develop tailored plans etc? I realise many people on this site are clue'd up enough to do it all themselves but wondering if anyone has had good results when starting off with an online coach?

  • I am just coming to the end of a half marathon training plan from https://my.asics.com/.

I have found the plan good so far and I am on course for a faster run than I was expecting when I started.

I like the periodisation of the plan and the way it gives pace ranges and descriptions for each run (and adapts them based on how fast I actually run them).
  • I used https://www.mbition.coach/ recently for its 30 day free trial period. Sounds quite similar to how Tim D has described the Asics one - adaptive, descriptive etc. I liked it whilst it was free but not enough to then pay for it going forward. Maybe try it on the free trial and see how you get on. I'm about to start using a Hal Higdon plan via Training Peaks.
