Wednesday 17th January 2018 - Turn around

Morning.

Lyrics - Turn around
             Look at what you see

Wet and windy here - not nice - and higher winds to come, I think we may have the march of the wheelie bins.

Good to hear from you SC and I'm glad that they were able to do something to help though I know it's not the result you wanted. Does this new information change things or are you going to be able to continue running as you were?

Mad conditions OH.

I feel a bit pathetic moaning after SC's news but I know he'll understand and hope the rest of you will continue to be tolerant. Yesterday afternoon I was trying to decide what I'd do this morning, maybe I'd try a little run or a cardio class at the gym, but I feel awful again this morning, peak flow has remained low for me (stuck at 420), I still have a rattle though it's higher, more the top of my chest and I have another bad sinus headache. We won't mention the ouches from the Body Balance class (as they are self inflicted and manageable if amusing). This just doesn't seem to be getting better no matter what I do or don't do and I'm out of ideas and losing heart:-(

What:              gain some perspective
Why:               misery loves company and I don't want to be the one providing it
Last hard:       maintaining my positive outlook
Last rest:        17/1
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Morning all,
Glad to hear it all went as per the schedule yesterday SC. As others have said , be good, be sensible and try to listen to half of what the specialists tell you...
LmH - bleat away, as has been said before only runners know and understand the bleats of the inactive runner!
OH - sounds a lovely run yesterday, have a safe trip. Just looked out the window and the sun is shining over City airport.

What - easy run and coaching this evening
    Why - squeezing it in
    last rest - 15/12
last hard - yesterday. We too had 'snow' possibly half an inch. So after helping sweep the inber track lanes of slush/snow hit the business park for thresholds (pavements too slippy).
16 minutes LT - 4mins easy - 14 minutes LT. Cold, hard but very pleasing, averaging ~6:30s
lyric - think I ought to..

  • Morning Dustun. Meehhhh meeehhh. (our sheep don't do Baah)
Is it just me or iss RW messaging/comments confusing?
Thanks all. In a relatively good but somewhat sore place this morning and getting ready for two dayts of enforced rest with no activity more than turning on a lap top or turning a page. Drafted in a Florence Nightingale and she's quite severe :-) (My ex)
WP...harsh diet...get well soon. I feel your pain.
LMH...sound off as much as you want/need
    What: A day of leisure
    Why: Doing what I'm told
Last Hard: seeing the multiple shavings and realising my patchwork body would not be eye catching on the beach :-)
    Last Rest: yesterday
Lyrics: Yes and I hope that the current circs aren't for many of us on here :-)

  • Have a good rehab (being pampered?) and hope it's all been worthwhile SC

5 miles done with heavy snow underfoot.
planes coming and going so fingers crossed for later ...
  • Pampered...I wish. :-)

    Evening

What: 10 miles with 6 at Sundays PACER pace on icy paths(FUN) d&d
run and vanity & core PM
    Why: Run day Wednesday
    Last hard: Monday
    Last rest: Friday 12th
    Lyrics: LOL of course not
  • Ouch, SC! And sorry things didn't go quite to plan. Be sensible and heal well.

WP: I feel your pain. Been through the same a couple of weeks ago. Bleurgh.

    Nice fast running, Dustin!

OH: snowy run sounds enjoyable. I'm usually not a big fan of snow but it's at least better than the wet slush that was keeping me from running this morning.

LMH: still no better :(  How utterly frustrating. Other than grin and bear it there's probably little you can do. At least you have the gym for some light stuff that should keep you from going insane. I have no gym bunny kit either and always go in my running gear. I would feel completely out of my depth in the revealing kit that some of the girls put on...

Ale: sorry to hear your back is still giving you trouble

What: 5k on the TM at lunchtime / yoga tonight
Why: heavy snow showers prevented running this morning / Day 16 of the challenge
Last hard: yesterday's yoga finished off my already sore glutes and hammies
    Last rest: 17/12
    Lyrics: yes

Yesterday's were Oh Diane, Fleetwood Mac.

    Afternoon

    What: 5 km at lunch
Why: I can and I need to make the most of it for you lot on the bench...
    Last hard: the wind today!
    Lyrics: nope

Off to look at registry office now, see if we'll get married there.

LMH I really feel for you
SC at least partially good news.  Now rest up!
    WP Oh no!
    OH Good luck...

    Have a lovely afternoon all.
  • Yes, those of you that can definitely need to keep putting the miles in - I'm living vicariously here:-)

chicksta - one of the girls had some lovely kit on, long tights and a t-shirt in a gorgeous purple/heather colour so I asked her whose it was, a company called Gym Shark apparently, I had a little look (they are online) and could possibly be tempted if this continues much longer - mainly because of the colour though I have to say.

    Where are you pacing Gobi?

Nice to have someone to play with Wabo.

You're squeezing in a lot Dustin!

emzap - can you not get married where you're having your party? That's what we did and it worked really well.

I went and did my gym programme and a few minutes walking at an incline on the treadie, passed some time and hopefully won't have delayed recovery. I might even have a discernible two pack by the end of this...........LOL. Physio should be pleased though as I am doing a few very light exercises to try to strengthen around my ruined shoulder which she's been nagging me about for years.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
