Morning!
Lyrics: Some people like to get a train to work
Or take a Beemer or a Merc
Can't believe the DLR will go on strike for VLM. Shocking.
Nice 5k sans SVT, SC. Shame the 10k was cancelled.
What: some run
Why: it's what I do
Last hard: trying to swim yesterday
Last rest: 18/3
Comments
Yesterday's lyrics - Waiting by Madonna.
Why have they cancelled the 10k SC? Nice 5k but take it easy on that hill?
No point in striking if no one is going to notice or care chicksta:-(
What: easy miles
Why: taper
Last hard: not running further to make the most of the beautiful morning yesterday
Last rest: 6/3
Lyrics - like them but don't know them.
Lyrics: I know the tune that they are sung to but no idea who performed what I think is a parody of a well known number.
What: just a walk plus Achilles stretching
Why: being careful until I have seen consultant re back on Monday evening.
Very pleasant weather-wise yesterday; today is grey...and tomorrow the rain is supposed to return.
Well done at the Hereford 5k SC!
Great to see you back Don and with some very impressive race times & training!
LmH - few from my club's mara group are running Boston with others doing the other Boston the following day.
What - easy miles
Why - tapering
last rest - 15/12
last hard - Tuesday
Should have got yesterday's lyric, not sure on today's
Any of your club mates looking for a comfy sub 3.20 that I can introduce P to before the start Dustin?
What 8.1 mile
Why: Body she said lets go for it
Last hard: yesterday and fighting the wind this morning
Lyrics: I do believe so
Miles makes smiles.
Progression
Cool and breezy up in the valleys. Several previous convictions of London Transport threatening strike during VLM but never happened so fingers crossed.
What: Probably a 5'ish
Why: saving myself for parkrun tomorrow's new venue
Last Hard: Tuesday
Last Rest: Yesterday
Lyrics: Yes
Good run there, poppy.
LMH: Colder here too. Needed gloves and hat again. Sigh.
ale: you're spot on with lyrics. I shall reveal more tomorrow and how I came across this song.
What: 9 windy and chilly miles
Why: wanted to
Last hard: digging out that winter gear again
Last rest: 18/3
What: ambivalent - probabably a few more miles
Why keen to maintain the momentum but don't want to push it too hard.
last hard: Wednesday (yesterday felt much better)
last rest: Last week.
lyrics: no
Weather looking a bit grey for next few days
The weather has caused havoc with races this year SC - I can't remember when it's been as bad. Hope you enjoy your alternative, at least the hill at the start should stop you going off too fast.
Glad you had a good run Poppy.
I haven't put anything away yet chicksta!
I have been head down due to various frustrations and training hard.
What: 6 mile run d&d and probably a small bike ride later
Why: easy Friday
Last hard: Wednesday
Last rest: Friday 12th of January
Lyrics: No
Sorry for dropping in and out, I hope people are recovered
Ale: definite parody. I preferred the original but OS has sympathy with this lot
I did 2 duathlons last month and had major cramping issues
I am now strength and conditioning training plus loading a major new development stretching routine as I have 2 races at the end of April.
Basically if I cant get off the bike and run I will have to retire which given I got a 2nd and 3rd in AG with all my issues and was devastated is a sad place to be.
Race to compete or don't race, I'm not a completer
Might try that Boston Marathon one day, LMH, seems flat and fast.
Totally bunged up with a head cold today, trained last night with the same. Was planning 13 miles this morning but no way. Fast and flat 10K race this Sunday, hope I am okay for it. One good race fair puts the pressure on for the next one!!
Lyrics, nope.
Thought I'd posted yesterday, but apparently didn't.
Yesterday did 2 km after dropping back a hire car.
What: boxfit
Why: I'll let you know after, but I think it's good for me
Last hard: I have a feeling this will be
Lyrics: nope
Handicap was great fun. Came 11 out of 70, 25:50 according to my watch. Times weren't measured this time due to logistical issues (it's a fun friendly thing, so no one is expecting it either). Will be trying to do them throughout the summer if I can get to them.
Have a lovely day all.
Lyrics yes.
SC shame about the 10k
Good to see you back posting Don, some great race times I have seen, well done.
Nicely done in the handicap Emz
Day off here - so had a nice easy 13.5m run in just over 2 Hours,
Parkrun pacing duties at 25 mins again tomorrow, then Highworth 5m on Sunday.
Take care
