Upper foot pain.

Hi all. I’m just getting back into running after a long break. I know that a lot of my leg muscles and tendons are tight. I’m getting upper foot pain on one foot right on top of my ankle joint, where it hinges essentially. I can run through it but then it gets more sore later. Taping it seems to help. Does anyone know what is causing it and if there are any exercises I can do to prevent it or strengthen the area. Thanks.

  • Hi, did you get an answer to this? I am having a similar problem with pain on the top of my left foot, from the middle to the ankle joint where the top of the foot meets the leg. My left calf and shin are also very tight. The soreness on the top my foot is really noticeable when I raise my left foot with my toes.
  • I should add that I saw a podiatrist who tested me for extensor tendinitis and ruled that out. Also had an x-ray which ruled out bone spurs.
